Excellent malt flavor
I've always preferred a malt over a shake. This is the best malted milk powder. This is a very old, established brand, and will be appreciated by any other "old-school" lovers of a good old-fashioed malt!

UPDATE December 9, 2024:So, the other night I started watching "Call the Midwife" and to my delight the nurses rewarded themselves after a long hard day with mugs of 'Orlicks!I hadn't ordered any for awhile (kinda pricy for me) but it was obviously a holiday season sign from the universe.I'd just made a Sustainer Donation to my local NPR too.So, the mug, the hot milk and HORLICKS made for a pre holiday gift to myself!Cheers and a Happy Christmas (as the Brits say!)Only gave it 4 stars the first review.Nobody believes a 5 Star. I've loved this stuff since the70's when I had some while living in Europe. Happy to have found it.

Better than most
The malted milk powders and syrups available today are nowhere near as malty as they used to be. But this is okay if you use several spoonfuls. Also this brand has less sugar than most of the others.

Designed for a HOT MILK drink
It does not mix well in cold milk... Horlicks recommends using a blender.Large quantity required for a desirable flavour. Amazon recommends it for a CHOCOLATE malt powdered drink. There's NO CHOCOLATE FLAVOR.

Smaller container than what I thought
Tasted just like I remembered. Didn’t upset my stomach as most foods do.

Thanks to "Call the Midwife" I had to try this. I absolutely (Trixie's word, if you know, you know) like it and will be buying it again. I have found it to be soothing at night.

Yuck!
I've heard about Horlick's from many of my British friends and it is referred to on British TV shows like Call the Midwife, so I wanted to get some and try it. Well, now I have and my curiosity is satisfied. This stuff tastes horrible. Adding a sweetener to it helps a bit. Adding it to instant hot chocolate helps a bit, too. Adding a small amount of it to old fashioned made from scratch hot cocoa is the best way to get it past the palate, but really, we just decided to cut our losses and pitched it.
