However, my doctor recommended it as supplement to control gout. And, I don't believe he would have "prescribed" or recommended anything that would have screwed up my daily intake of sugar. If you want more specifics, I would recommend contacting the manufacturer. Suggestion: If you are currently under care with a physician; and, have regular blood tests. . .Have your doctor add to the lab "request form" to check sugar levels. . And, for WHICH sugar you (or, he/she) might be interested in. Personally, I ingest any sugar on a minimal basis. . And, I have been taking this cherry extract for almost a year. . .And, nothing about my lab tests seems to have "alerted" my doctor. . .And, I insist on discussing ALL my lab tests during each visit (approx. 4 times a year). . .And, I take ONE tablet of Cherry extract per day. . . And, they DO "alleviate" the symptoms. . .but, do NOT cure the gout. I have also modified my diet to contend with the gout condition; and, my lab tests (taken every 3-4 months) indicate a uric acid level substantially lower than when I was "stricken." I have also cut out ALL alcohol. . No beer; no whiskey; no wine for the past two years! **Q: where is their origin, and how much anthocyanin in each?** A: I asked Bronson and they says The countries of origin are USA, Serbia and Poland. The Tart Cherry is manufactured in the USA. I don't know how much anthocyanin in each. Hope I helped. **Q: what size are the capsules?** A: If I understand your question, the tablets are 3/4" long; and, 1/4" in diameter. . .And, I take several different tablets at the same time (Turmeric Circumin; a multi-vitamin; etc--all the same size) without any "difficulty." I wash all of them down with about 4-6 oz of milk, flavored with a "splash" of cold coffee. After which, I eat breakfast, consisting usually of an omelet, made with two beaten eggs over a mix of mix of grated zucchini; onion; and, jalapeno pepper topped with melted cheddar and parmesan cheese; a slice of homemade whole wheat toast & marmalade. . and, two cups of fresh French Roast coffee; and, an orange. One time, he had a really bad acute gout attack and was unable to walk for a few days! It's crazy. He has been on maintenance meds ever since. I didn't want him to have to keep taking it for good so we decided diet modification but it just doesn't work as we expected.
