I currently have my office desk and chair in a room that had relatively this carpet and the wheels that come with office chairs just do not handle it well when trying to move while seated. The wheels regularly would basically get snagged in the carpet and I would have to stand to and physically lift the chair, so I decided to give some new wheels a try. These are essentially just rollerblade wheels(w ball bearings) on a swivel and they work phenomenally well compared to what comes stock with office chairs. As others have need installing is a breeze, just repeat the same process you used when installing the stock wheels. Once I got the new wheels on, sat down to see if I could actually live around in the chair just using my legs without the carpet causing problems - yep, I can finally move around without constantly having to stand up and lift my chair. Chair glides smoothly on the carpet and on hardwood as expected (adjacent room to me is hardwood) while being virtually silent. They did raise my seat height slightly but nothing major. Absolutely a worthwhile investment if you work from home or are seated for a good portion of the day, would 💯 recommend these wheels to anyone.

Super easy changeover from the stock wheels. I'm using them on an older high quality office chair and they work wonderfully. They are great for hard floors and glide easily. I'm currently using my chair on carpet and it work fine there too! They raise your chair slightly but I don't mind at all. In fact with added height it clears rug transition area with ease. I'm ordering two more set tonight.

I replaced the crappy wheels that came on my office chair with these! The quality is high, and I’m able to roll on the carpet in my office now! They’re easy to install, but you do need a bit of strength to snap them in! I use them on carpet, but there’s no noise when they rotate. I can’t speak for noise on tile or wood.

So, I’m not one to write reviews but I wanted to write this one to pass along helpful info, especially in this instance where you want to order a product that fits into something you already own. First off 4 stars cause the product itself is great, and I’m not faulting it for not fitting my IKEA chair, in order for the product to work best it has to fit snuggly and it’s a size that’s “most common” in chairs. Honestly kinda my fault for not checking the info on my IKEA chair cause I know they use metric measurements. I wasn’t really inconvenienced by this cause I knew I could return them, and any negative feelings about the wheels not fitting was directed at myself for not checking the size of where the wheels needed to fit. Luckily I was able to use these on my wife’s office chair and it works and fits like a dream. They roll smoothly on both our rug and the hardwood floors, hair gets caught up in them a negligible amount (we have 4 dogs and a cat, this is a HUGE issue we have with regular office wheels). They are quiet and it genuinely just feels good to use the chair to roll around while also not feeling uncomfortable or too sludgy/slippery. It was easy to pop off the old wheels and pop in the new ones and she loves them. So this is more of a tale of caution if you have a chair that you got that uses metric measurements, cause then it might have abnormal sized measurements and you might want to double check them before you blindly buy something online without double checking the sizes.
