It is Tuesday night and my scoby is still sitting on the bottom. Is it dead?** A: Do not worry about position of scoby . I observe that the scoby that we have will be the mother scoby soon will produce the new one and the new one( we call baby scoby) always float on the top. This process take a while about 2- 3 weeks and it depend on the temperature of location that you put fermented glass jar . The room temp. is warmer, the shorter time of fermentation. For my first kombucha made from this product , it took about 3 weeks to get ready for second fermentation. Have patience of making kombucha tea unless you want to make from scratch that help to increase scoby too. **Q: is this organic? The bag in one pic says it is and in another that it is not. The description does not say that it is. :(** A: Looking at the description it says "made with organic tea and sugar," but I suppose that is different than the whole scoby being organic. I thought it was organic when i bought it, but maybe I misinterpreted that description. Sadly I know longer have the packaging to be able to check. If I were you, i would contact the seller to ask before buying. **Q: What kind of probiotic live culture is in the starter tea?** A: This is from the sellers information: The culture used to ferment kombucha is called a S.C.O.BY.; during the fermentation, the SCOBY converts sugar into alcohol, which further breaks down into beneficial acids, vitamins & enzymes. **Q: this live scoby need to refrigerate or could it keep room temp with whole packaging? when i not ready to make ?** A: As long as your house isn't too warm it should be just fine. If it gets too hot or cold it will kill the scoby. No refrigeration. I didn't make mine right as soon as I bought it. It sat on my kitchen counter for a week.
