not just for beginners!
An experienced quilter of over 25 years, I am impressed by this book's concise instructions on every level of quilter. Close-up photos present clear demonstration of techniques. Even better, a generous collection of contemporary free-quilting techniques is presented: hexie construction, offset piecing, partial seam construction, and dozens of other specific styles are briefly and clearly presented. Yes, I am impressed; but more significantly I am already planning some ways to incorporate the book's contents into my own creative work.

great for any beginners or just those looking for pointers
My Grandma was a great quilter but it's not like I wrote down all her words of wisdom. So when I saw this book it definitely helped jog my memory on the things she used to tell me. Very user friendly and great for helping with project ideas.

Great content for people with good eyesight
The book is extremely informative and interesting. Unfortunately the font is extremely small for an instructional manual. If you are farsighted, I don't recommend buying this book.

You can easily do each square in an evening
I am loving this book. I’m teaching myself to quilt and learning skills and techniques one block at a time makes it very accessible and you get a sampler quilt at the end. You can easily do each square in an evening.

Straightforward book, easy to understand & follow the pictures/diagrams
I took this book out of my local library before buying. I needed a straightforward approach to begin quilting. The instructions are very easy to follow in this book as are the pictures/diagrams.
