O livro é bem ilustrado e discorre sobre vários tipos de estruturas industriais, porém sem detalhar como reproduzir uma delas na maquete e sem estabelecer uma conexão clara com o título (Space Saving).

Das Buch beschreibt auf leicht nachvollziehbare Ergänzungen für Bahnbetriebswerke und kleine bis mittlere Industrie- und Großhandelsansiedlungen an Neben - und Haupstrecke. Es werden auch spezielle Umladeeinrichtungen für Kohle, Öl und Kraftstoffe inklusive Bastelanleitung und aussagekräftigen Vorbildfotos erklärt. Der kleinen Kohlenhandlung in einer vorhandenen Lücke oder der Großhandlung am Streckerand im Hintergrund steht also nicht mehr im Weg da die meisten Materialien bei jedem Modelleisenbahner vorhanden sind oder leicht beschafft werden können.

まあ良く雰囲気を伝える、小さくまとまったムック本
予定日より6日ほど遅れて到着。蒸気機関車の操車場から始まり、給炭・給水設備、引き込みのある大豆工場、線路沿いの古いタイプのガソリンスタンドや砂利・砂・石炭販売所の様子、ディーゼル機関車用給油設備、大型小型の貨物駅、隣接できる倉庫群、くず鉄回収、石炭で焼き上げる中規模のレンガ工場、各種ホッパー車用の設備、原木・間伐材の輸送の様子などなど盛り沢山。アメリカの50年台を中心に前後20年ぐらいの設備の様子をHOゲージの鉄道模型でガレージ大のレイアウトにまとめるための小ネタ集。
