Will it hold?** A: Yes I think it will hold as long as the bracket is lagged into a stud **Q: Can the hook be removed or folded for easy storage?** A: No it can’t. It needs to be removed from wall if it is in the way by taking out screws. **Q: Can this be used outdoors?** A: I did not purchase this type of bike storage rack. Mine was a vertical lift type. **Q: Can you please measure the distance between screw holes?** A: The top hole is zero. the other three holes are at 3.25, 6.12 and 8.0 below the top hole. I used the enclosed plastic dry wall anchors, and the hook seems solid. I only mounted one hook, and have a relatively light road bike, (well, it seemed light to me when I bought it, compared to its predecessor)--it's just about 30 lbs with the lights, tool kit tire pump, etc. I bought it about 1980, a Cannondale road bike.
