[...]My 12 year old son has saved for this product from work and birthday money. He recently snorkeled and visited three shipwrecks that were shallow in Lake Michigan. He hopes to learn to scuba dive and enjoy that with his dad who has been a dive instructor. He used this in pools to practice and also in a river nearby.He is very happy with the way the Seawing Nova Open Heel fins perform. Their unique design gives the thrust that some sea animals enjoy. They have a flexible section where they connect that has ridges that allow it to bend back and forth without compromising the durability of the fins.They also have a heavy duty bungie type strap on the back instead of the normal strap you have to fasten. This was another attractive feature to him.They are very sturdy and look to last him years. He researched using Amazon online and we are very pleased with the variety available and with our final purchase.

I was really impressed with the research that was put into quality and design of these fins. I have done alot of research in finding the fins that would work best for me and so far they are every thing I have hoped for. These are not enexspensive fins but it they will be around for many years.

*We purchased these fins from a dive shop years ago, but I feel I should add my review here as well since I am an avid Amazon shopper also.My husband and I have each owned a pair of Nova Seawings (white and black) for years and completed numerous dives in various conditions throughout the Pacific. Although a bit more clumsy to maneuver out of water due to their larger size, they are fantastic in the water and barely take any effort to kick and maneuver. Properly sized, they stay on very well, but easy to take off once ready to get out. The joint on one of my husband's fins started to break after a year or so (he kicks hard naturally), but ScubaPro honored their warranty and replaced his for free. They replaced his with a newer model, same design, but stronger, firmer material and we've had no issues since. I still use my original fins going on six years now and have tried a couple other brands and designs, but I always prefer these. Great investment!

Loved these fins hope they warranty them. I dive more than most so I needed something durable looks like they have a slight defective spot in the mold.

Great quality, very comfortable fins. If you have narrower feet you will definitely need boots to take up the space side to side as these were made to accommodate people with wider feet.
