Can you reuse them on different shoes?

You can. I say that because when I was first putting them on, I had to take them off & reposition numerous times until I was satisfied with placement. Just remove them slowly instead of just ripping them off.

Does this work with athletic shoes?

I used for heels but I don’t see why they wouldn’t work for athletic shoes.

Will these work for sneakers that have a gap by ankles and need to be more snug to the ankle?

They should work for any type of shoe with a sturdy heel.
