I have had this band for 3 months, and have been happy with it. I have been looking for a simple, durable, rubber diver style band that looks nice and is waterproof. The rubber is a good thickness, not too thin. The rubber is a nice, soft, flexible, slightly stretchy and very comfortable, feels like a high quality. This band does have a scent, it smells like marshmallows. Not joking. Marshmallows. Slightly sweet. You will smell it frequently, getting whiffs of it randomly while you wear it. At least it is a pleasant/neutral smell.I feel it is worth the higher price because it feels like nice high quality band. I have bought some cheaper bands and not been happy with them for one reason or another- too stiff, weird color or texture, size or thickness just looks unappealing. Just spend the money and get exactly what you want the first time around and be done with it. I put this band on my Citizen BN0151-9L diver, and now the watch is wearable in any situation, it doesn't look too casual and sporty while I'm at work now. It really brings out the best look in the Citizen, I didn't like the stock blue band with decompression times printed on it.

This watch strap is very very comfortable, fits great, has adjustment holes that accommodate my small-ish wrists, and seems more durable than some other silicone straps available (hopefully, at least).The smell is a pleasant vanilla, as described. Some reviews say it is incredibly strong, some say it really isn't that bad. I'm kind of right in the middle. To me, it is not necessarily STRONG but it is non-stop. I will say this to anyone on the fence - I smell the vanilla scent EVERY time my hand approaches my face. I am not sure if the scent will lessen with time. I will continue wearing this strap because it's exactly what I wanted and despite the 'free cologne' I give it 5 stars.EDIT 4/21/17 UPDATE -- I have worn this watch band every day and night except for showers/swimming. The smell has nearly vanished. I can still smell the vanilla if I put the strap directly to my nose and focus on it. The smell is totally a non issue for me now. If you are concerned about the smell I would suggest ordering this product and letting it sit in open air for a month. Otherwise the strap has been great, extremely comfortable, and does not show any signs of wearing out.

Authentic vulcanized 2-piece rubber strap from Marathon that is comfortable and durable and available at >40% discount compared to retail price of $70. Be aware that they are packaged with non-shouldered spring bars compatible with watches with drilled lug holes from the outside. You'll need to replace them with shouldered spring bars (not supplied) if your watch does not have drilled lug holes or it could be a struggle to remove them. Quality of these straps are excellent and bought 2 more for my watch collection. The vanilla scent is added to eliminate an even worse rubber odor after vulcanization process to increase strength and durability of the strap.

Hands down the best watch strap I have ever had. I am honestly stunned by how comfortable the strap is, especially considering how heavy my watch is (Seiko SKA 371). I forget that I'm even wearing a watch now. Some details about the strap itself- it's THICK, as in 3 or 4mm thick, but somehow is still flexible enough to curve to my wrist comfortably; it's exceptionally well made- for the price, it can't be beat; the vanilla scent isn't as pervasive as some make it out to be (it kinda hits you when you take it out of the packaging and then disappears); the area around the pins is beefier than the rest of the strap, so I'm not worried about the strap breaking when I go surf or hike.

The strap looks good and sturdy; however it has an overwhelming vanilla scent. I really wanted to keep these but even after leaving it in the open for almost a month, the scent was still too strong. Upon first opening the package, the scent was simply extreme; I could smell it on my hand after just touching the strap for mere seconds. I like vanilla ice cream but this scent was repulsive to me.I would definitely have kept the strap if it had no scent at all. Whether you are OK with its vanilla scent is really a matter of opinion. For me it's overwhelming and repulsive so I had no choice but to return the product.

I like it!The band is made of a very nice rubber material. It's soft and comfortable. The buckle, however, looks very cheap, I had to replace it with the old one made by HR from the old band. The size is listed as medium, but it is a little long. I wish it had more holes for adjustment for smaller wrists. I can punch more holes, but I don't have an oval shape punch. I would have given it a 5 if those things were corrected.

As an anti bracelet guy (nothing personal, just not comfortable to me), I have found myself wearing my 2004 Marathon SAR dive watch less and less as the bracelet was a turnoff. I also did the same thing a couple years ago with a new Tudor Pelagos dive watch. Great bracelets, but just not my cup of tea. I replaced the Tudor's bracelet with a Isofrane about a year and a half ago and its wear time increased exponentially. I have seen the Marathon brand straps, but balked at the $60 MSRP I was seeing (yes, the Isofrane is north of $100, but it was a known quantity to me). Should have checked Amazon. $30 is a steal for this type of strap/quality. I have daily worn the new strap for two weeks now and zero irritation, great comfort, and on par with much more expensive straps. If I had known, that Tudor's bracelet would have been replaced with the 22mm version of this strap. Well done.

I got the band for my Samsung Gear S2 classic watch and it fits good. I would give 5 stars for the band, but the pins are complete crap. Tried to switch my band back and the pins are stuck (one was bent when I got it), so if I want to go back to my leather band I'll have to cut the pins. The Vanilla smell isnt over powering as some have stated. But again, the pins are junk. Between the vanilla smell and junk pins, it leads me to question the authenticity of the product.

Very comfortable and good looking. It has a rugged but refined appearance with the beveled sides and smooth finish.Super comfortable on the wrist, even if you wear it very tight.It's a little thick, so it complements thicker watches better. Smells great if I put it within a foot of my nose, otherwise not noticeable.Complaint for me is the length. I have small wrists for a man, maybe 6 3/4 inch around, and have to use the last hole. It fits, but the unused portion is a little too long and sticks out from my viewing perspective. Nothing a sharp knife and a metal file couldn't fix to restore the original soft curve end.I don't have much experience with rubber straps, but this is miles ahead of the stock silicone used on older Seiko divers. Loving it!

If you're looking at this rubber strap against others, just hit the buy button. For $30 you're getting unbelievable value. The strap is incredibly well made - soft, pliable rubber, excellent quality hardware (clasp and spring bars), and smells great!Marathon is also a great seller - they corrected a mistaken order quickly and expressed me the right one all during the holidays.

I have 6.25" wrists and the last hole was slightly on the larger side but it still fit pretty well without sliding around and there isn't that much overhang compared to other rubber straps.There is a light scent and it's more like play-doh then it is vanilla, but it doesn't smell of rubber at all.It's also on the thicker side of straps, but that doesn't bother me.Overall, pretty great.

Replacing the 9 years old Marathon rubber watch band comes with my SAR diver's watch. The original band is good while material and cutting are more stylish and comfortable for the latest version. Pricey but it should last for many years. And yes, someone mentioned it smells good.
