Great Starter Straight Razor Set
This is a really solid straight razor set, especially for beginners or anyone wanting that clean barber-style edge at home. The razor feels sturdy in hand and has a nice balance to it. The blade holder opens and closes smoothly, and swapping out blades is simple. The included pack of blades is a nice bonus and makes this a great value overall. The shave is close and precise — perfect for lining up edges, beards, and neck cleanups. For the price, this is a dependable and affordable option that gets the job done. Definitely a good addition to your grooming tools.

I Didn’t Expect to Love a Straight Razor This Much… But Wow!
I have always felt somewhat nervous shaving with the aid of a straight razor. This product, however, proved my preconception wrong. It is the Utopia Care Professional Straight Razor that changed my attitude to this tool; now, shaving is an experience I cannot live without anymore. When I opened the package, the first thing that caught my eye was the high-quality build of the product. The razor is neither too heavy nor too light. Instead, it is just perfect. Moreover, its matte black design is what makes it look so professional. When using it for the first time, I proceeded with caution. However, when I finally learned the use of this tool, the results impressed me to the highest degree. This is probably one of the most comfortable shaving tools I have ever used. There are no unpleasant sensations whatsoever. It provides excellent closeness. However, what caught my eye was how natural it was to hold. The razor provides a stable grip, and blade is fixed tightly into place, and thus you get a better sense of control without feeling that you are struggling with the razor itself. In addition, 100 replacement blades come with the package, which is a definite advantage, especially because there is no need to spend money on buying new blades all the time, you just need to change the old one when necessary. It must be noted that some experience is needed before starting to use it. In other words, my first few shaves were not successful or perfect, but they could have been better, however, after learning certain techniques, you will find that it is very comfortable to shave using this razor. The fact is that this razor makes the process of shaving enjoyable, not burdensome. And for those of you who have had an interest in straight razors but were a little unsure, this is a wonderful razor to begin with. It's just possible that, by taking things slow, you too may fall in love with it.

Clean shave as a gift
Great straight razor, hold the blade well. It is hard to open and close where the blade is at first, but once you wear it down a little it's very easy. Gets an awesome clean crisp shave. Husband loves it and has gifted it to a few friends already.

Good razor, just takes getting used to
This razor is actually really nice quality. Feels solid in the hand and the blades are sharp. Gives a clean shave once you get the hang of it. Only thing is it’s definitely harder to use than I expected. Not like a regular razor at all. I’ve already nicked myself a couple times while learning. Still a good buy, just take your time with it and go slow 👍

Great razor for the price
Good razor and feel and enough blade exposed for me. Feels solid.

Not bad for the price.
I've been using a straight-edge razor for a little over a year now using a typical "old fashioned" blade and decided to give this a shot for a variety of reasons. The price: You get what you pay for. I paid $9.99 for this razor and 100 derby blades. The razor itself, or razor caddy to be more specific, is decent. It's stainless steel and of good construction. The blade is held firmly in place just as it should be. The problem is that the two dots for alignment inside the enclosure are slightly off so the edge of the blade is at a different angle than the edge of the caddy, they should be parallel and they're not. This seems like a minor problem, but when you're working with something that is barely extending beyond the edge of the caddy, you have to use the caddy for alignment on your face either by sight or touch - but this creates a perception problem and if you're not extra careful you'll end up slicing your face/neck instead of shaving it. If the alignment were better, this would be a superb product. Perhaps mine is just faulty? Your mileage may vary. Speaking of slicing your neck, this brings me to the Derby blades that came with it. My first shave with it went well - just as I'm accustomed to with my prior razor. It took a few strokes before I realized the alignment problem, but once that was figured out I was able to adjust. My second shave was a decidedly different story. If you've never used a single, ultra-sharp blade before, then you may not realize that when something is THIS sharp you don't feel pain right away when you cut yourself. That was what happened with the second shave - my neck was sliced in many places. Once the blood started flowing from multiple cuts, I stopped and inspected what was going on. The blade had a nick in it. Because the first didn't, I assumed this was a fluke. I took the blade out and put a new one in, only to realize this 3rd blade was nicked also. I then opened up 10 more of the individually wrapped blades and 7 of them had flaws that would cause this problem. Out of the 13 total blades that I have opened so far, 9 of them were unusable for shaving. The box containing the blades was slightly askew when I received it, and was definitely damaged during shipping but the blades looked fine until I inspected them specifically looking for imperfections in the blade edge. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that this is not their quality control but was instead a shipping issue, but I recommend you be very careful if you do order this product. They're delicate. Doing further research it seems Derby blades are far from ideal. Their thinness accounts for how easily they're damaged and become unusable. Even the undamaged blades only gave a really good shave for 3/4's of my face/neck before dulling. I am able to complete a full shave, but it's less smooth near the end due to the rapid dulling of the blade. Some people report getting a second shave from each one, maybe I was just spoiled with how long my standard straight-edge was able to hold a shave-ready edge. Short version: Quality of the blades is lacking, find different blades to use with the caddy. Quick research will show you the best alternatives. The razor/caddy is good, but would be great if it held the blade parallel for easier use.

Good quality. Solid built. Feels sturdy in your hand.
Wow, this is like professional grade razor right here. Feels solid and made with high quality materials. The blades themselves are super, super, super sharp so be careful when changing them out. The process to change them is quite simple so you should be fine as long as you follow the instructions that it comes with. Ive had some great shaves ever since I bought this. Definitely would recommend.

Great beginner shavette. Got this to use for lining up the beard and cleaning up my cheeks and neck. Let's you shave clean lines while you see what you're doing. Definitely trickier than using clippers or generic razors, but gives you control. The build is basic, but solid enough to last a long time.
