Love it! I have a Maine Coon with very fine down and he develops small mats behind his front legs, in front of his rear legs, and sometimes on his belly. My old methods were not effective because he is more impatient than my previous Maine Coons. So I found this tool and thought I would try it. I was upset when I took it out because the blades face up instead of down. This makes it nearly impossible to use, even left-handed (and I am right-handed). For a cat, you will need to be behind him and rake towards yourself to maintain control. Well, I saw the nut on the top and bingo! Take the nut off and you can disassemble the comb and put the blades back on on in any of four ways you want! Now it works fantastically- best dematting tool I have ever used. So much easier than trying to pick them out with a wide comb or cut them out.

This comb is super comfortable to use, thank you thumb rest,and my dog doesn't have a bad reaction to it either. Unlike other dematting rakes my dog seems to enjoy me using this in her. This is made very well and well worth the money. I keep my dog's hair slightly longer than breed standard and this comb handles it with ease. It removes the old hair without a lot of picking, pulling and product needing to be used. I love this product for that, keeping my pup comfortable during grooming is a top priority! The comb is very easy to clean since it is metal and has wide teeth.

Absolutely LOVE this brush, amazing,it goes through my Havapoos coat like butter , easy to clean , durable, well made, it will not work on other breeds, we have a Coton De Telar and it doesn't work on him it catches and pulls his hair, which it wasn't bought for the Coton it was purchased for our Havapoo and works wonderfully on our doodle . Highly recommend!

This is a must have grooming tool! I wish i had bought sooner. It combs through mats easily and with minimal pulling. There needs to be a left-handed one, because some angles need it.

LOVEEEE!! I got this last year & forgot to write my review so here I am. I love this soo much and still use it all the time. It works AMAZING! I have a poodle mix with allergies who scratches a lot and gets matted often. This has helped soo much! I had a little trouble at first but I found that the trick for super matted spots is to wiggle it out. Don't hesitate to buy it'll make your life easier!🤗

For context I have a 50lb goldendoodle that is 75% poodle. Her hair is very curly like a poodles. I brush her out regularly because I like to keep her coat long. This requires using a slicker to line brush and metal comb to verify no tangles. If there are any tangles, a dematting tool like this is effective at breaking thru. My complaints with this tool, is that the teeth are not on very tight. They shift around and it results in a jagged alignment of the teeth rather than the nice smooth side. This is generally not great for a dematting tool, because they tend to be very sharp on the serrated side (for getting thru the mats). However, on this tool, the serrated side is a VERY dull blade. I am not sure such a dull blade will be that great for getting out tough mats. It's fine for me and my dog, because I brush her out regularly and she never has tough mats to deal with. Typically I only see small mats that form in the problematic areas and this comb is able to get those out effectively. So TLDR - this is a decent de matting comb for small mats and good if you're already regularly grooming the dog. Also, the dull blade makes risk of accidentally cutting your dog minimal to none. BUT, if you have a tightly matted dog due to neglect and expect this tool to be great for those, I think you'd be disappointed.

I use this for all breeds that are thick/double coated. It’s easy to use, it does help break up those tougher mats, good value for money, and even helped with my personal dogs hair. The only thing I find is it really tugs at the hair so if a pet is more sensitive to things you may get a head snap or warning signs from them

This dematting comb has been a lifesaver for my long-haired pet. It easily removes tangles and mats without pulling too hard or causing discomfort. Suitable only for mild tangles in the fur of your pet. In case the fur has dense tangles or is completely matted, the best and only option is to trim the hair short going gently and carefully under the matting !
