Every slice of steak is a pleasure to cut
I bought these after searching through 100s of steak knifes. I wanted knives that would no tbe terribly expensive, and ones that would not butcher the meat. And ones that have a decent size to them. These knives are very good. They feel good, they're solid by not bulky, they cut lean slices with ease without butchering it and are very aesthetically pleasing. And without spending $100+Defintely recommend.

I’m truly amazed by this Kalorik Cobra knife set. Wow! Quality japanese hand forged blades are sharp. There’s a 8” chef knife, a 5.5” prep knife, and a 3.5” paring knife.I’ve used the prep and pairing knife up to now and I’ve never cut through things like that; a tomatoe can’t resist to those knifes!Worth the $79 hands down!

The knives are proper sized and are sharp.
They are heavy sharp knives. I cut my finger tip by drying one knife with a cloth. I like texture which is unusual.

Sharp, well-balanced, affordable steak knives that will show your steaks the respect they deserve!
Good steak knives are an essential part of any steak-lovers’ kitchen. As a steak-lover who takes great care to make delicious steak for your family, you want knives that are going to treat the steak you make with respect, slicing them thoroughly without chewing through them. I’ve had my Wusthof steak knives for a good many years and have been looking to replace them, so when I saw the Kalorik Cobra 4-piece steak knife set on offer, I thought I’d give them a try to see how they stacked up against my Wusthofs. This set of 4 steak knives comes nicely presented in a sharp-looking box. Opening the box, you will find the knives nestled in foam for protection, so this set is appropriate for gift-giving, if you are so inclined. At 4.75”, the blade size is ideal for slicing through steak or lamb and I also like that the blades are fashioned from Japanese high-carbon stainless steel, so they shouldn’t corrode or rust and should keep their sharpness longer than knives made with low-grade stainless steel. I’m not a fan of the “cobra” design on the blade, but Kalorik claims it’s not just for looks, but also helps to create a non-stick surface for easier cleanup. I really didn’t notice a difference in cleanup time or effort when pitting these against my Wusthofs. Other than the cobra texture, these are attractive knives with a lovely double-bolster design. The blades are serrated as opposed to peerless. When giving these the paper test, they passed with flying colours, slicing through a sheet of paper effortlessly, so they come to you nice and sharp. The blades feel and look smooth with no nicks, burrs, or flash to be seen, though on close inspection, the teeth are not quite as cleanly fashioned as I would like.I really like the handle design on these…they have a curve that feels good in the hand, which helps to cut down on fatigue. That bolster on the heel is also more than just for looks as it helps to balance the knife so that your hand stays in place without riding up or riding down when cutting. The rivets on the handle are another good sign of a well-balanced knife. They are quite a bit heavier than my Wusthofs and have thicker spines than is ideal, but since we will only be using these to slice through steak and other meats, the extra weight shouldn’t be too much of a bother. We’ve been using these knives for a while and there have been no complaints. For steak knives that cost just a penny under $70 regularly, they work quite well and are more than adequate for most kitchens. I can’t say they work as well or feel as good as my Wusthofs, but then, my Wusthofs cost significantly more than these Kaloriks. If you are looking for an affordable set of steak knives that won’t savage your beautiful steaks, this set of Kalorik steak knives are worth looking at. Right now as I write this, they are on sale for $49, so now is the time to scoop them up! I hope this review has helped you in your steak knives comparison shopping! Bon appetit!

Decently crafted knives at an okay price, but prep knife is kinda superfluous
Having used knives of varying degrees of cost, I know you do not necessarily have to spend a fortune to get decent knives that will be an asset to your kitchen for many years to come. For instance, many of the knives I have chosen for my kitchen currently are from Victorinox which make good knives at decent prices. When I saw this 3-piece knife set from Kalorik, it piqued my curiosity, so I ordered them with a view to seeing how well they stack up against my Victorinox knives. This set of Kalorik knives comes in a lovely black box and each of the knives is packed in a high density foam for security, so the presentation is quite nice. In this set you will get an 8” chef knife, a 5.5” prep knife, and a 3.5” paring knife. The knives look quite nice, at first blush, though I will say off the bat I am really not a fan of the cobra texture on the blades, but that is very much a subjective consideration. Kalorik does claim that the cobra texture prevents foods from sticking to the blades for easier cleanup, but that has not been my experience with them. The blades are fashioned from Japanese high carbon stainless steel, so they should not rust or corrode and should maintain their sharpness well. The handles look lovely with their double bolster design, but the bolster on the butt of the knife isn’t just for looks, it also helps to give the knives balance. The rivets also ensure that these will be well-balanced knives. I’m not sure what material the handles are made out of…it doesn’t seem like wood to me, but they are fashioned with a nice, ergonomic shape that felt pleasing in my hand. These knives are very sharp, right out of the box and yes, they all pass the paper test with flying colours. The blades look and feel clean and smooth with no nicks, burrs, or flash to be found. There is a bit of flash on the handle material that overlaps the metal in the handle, so that is a wee bit sloppy looking, but it shouldn’t affect how the knives work. Both the chef and prep knives slice, cut, and dice veggies and fruits well and are also great for cutting through bone and ligament. I like that there was plenty of room to rest my knuckles on the chef knife for closer slicing. The paring knife works well for peeling, pitting, slicing, and cubing…it’s a great size and feels good in hand. To be perfectly honest, though, if you have a good chef knife, you really don’t need a prep knife and I find I hardly use the prep knife at all. I would’ve much rather this set came with a serrated knife instead of the prep knife. The bolster between blade and handle sits back well so you can sharpen the chef and prep knives right to the heel. I liked that the handles are shaped such that my hand did not slide up or down the handle when using the knives. I do find the spines on these a wee bit thicker than I’d like and the knives are also heavier than I’d like, which means they will cause fatigue if you are doing a lot of work with them. The thicker spines are going to cause some drag, as well. These knives clean up nicely…just be sure you hand wash and dry immediately to maintain the efficacy of the blades. At $69.99, this isn’t a bad set of knives, particularly if you have a lot of use for a prep knife. Personally, I wouldn’t buy these again because I find my Victorinox knives work well for me and I have no need of a prep knife when a good chef knife will do. Had this set included a serrated knife in place of the prep knife, this set would’ve been much more attractive to me. I’d like to see a coupon offered for this set to make it a more attractive buy, also. I hope this review has helped you in your knife comparison shopping! Bon appetit!
