great hall light
My husband broke the 10" glass shell in the hall light of our 40 year old house when he changed the bulb. We ordered this LED light 12" so it would cover the ceiling paint around the edges. It looks good, gives out great light, and was fairly easy to install. We are pleased with it. The LED lights are in rows emanating out from the center. Did not count the diodes but there are plenty of them. This shade is a firm but not hard plastic and we won't have to change the light bulbs again.

Nice and BRIGHT
Put it up today and wow is it bright. Had to change the round ceiling pan mount because the one up there was not 3 1/2 inch and that was the hardest part of the install. Mount the light was easy but I suggest have someone assist you while connected the wires. I did it by myself but had to suspend it from the ceiling with wire in order to have both my hands free. Other than that it looks great and lights up my office like daylight outside.

Almost a great light fixture.
We recently moved into a condo that had dim incandescent light fixtures in the walk-in closet, back hall and laundry room. The bulbs would burn out regularly and replacing them was a pain due to the poor design of the fixture. This fixture, by comparison is great. Very bright with a nice natural light spectrum. The style is very nice as well. And I am counting on the LEDs to last a long time. I would have given this a 5 star but it has a significant flaw. The base of the light has 2 sets of mounting slots. The ones I needed to use were for a smaller diameter electrical box. However, the round can that houses the electrical components of the light covers the mounting holes. If you need the inner slots, you'll have a challenge on your hands.

3 stars for quality, 5 stars for customer service
The light was nice and bright... for the first 4.8 years. It failed just shy of the 5-year warranty, hence the 3 star product rating. BUT... I sent a message to InLight via the Amazon messaging service on a Friday evening, not expecting a response for a few days. On Saturday morning, I woke to a very pleasant and polite response AND a full refund of the purchase price. FIVE STARS for customer service. I'm disappointed that the light failed, since it was the perfect brightness and aesthetic for my kitchen, but I wouldn't hesitate to purchase an InLight product again.

Pleased as punch
I loved the way the core of the luminaire was a single piece that mounted to my PVC round wiring box by pushing-over-then-turn on the 8-32 screws which are then tightened. Meaning there's no separate mounting disc which is screwed down and wired to ground, with all wiring coming through a hole in the middle. Not having to add the extra ground pigtail for this disc and shove all wiring back through it means installing this light is super easy. I am slightly concerned that tightening the screws to secure the luminaire flexes the circuit board the LEDs are mounted on; I hope they are made to cope with this. The light produced looks good and even, and the luminaire itself is very attractive while also being very compact to the ceiling, a concern for any room with modest-height ceilings. I used two of these in a rectangularish bedroom and am quite pleased. Hopefully the light continues to function fine for a few years, as these kind of elements aren't yet replaceable.

Great light (for about 2 years)
Light worked well for about 2 1/2 years. It provided even light and looked nice in our kitchen. However, it stopped working. I didn't realize that we couldn't replace bulbs and would have to buy a new one.

Easy to install, very bright, no excessive packaging
We purchased a pair of these lights to replace similarly-styled, but outdated, fluorescent-tube based lights in our kitchen. The lights were well-packed in easy-to-open cardboard boxes, with minimal foam (which I like because foam isn't recyclable). The lights are super easy to install: just thread the included screws into your ceiling's junction box (J-box), connect the wires (which are plenty long) using the included wiring nuts, fit the lights over the screw heads, turn the light a few degrees, then screw down the screw heads until secure. The lights are very bright - 150W is a good approximation compared to incandescent. When we turned on the lights, we were frankly shocked at how bright they were, compared to our previous lights! The light is also very uniform through the diffuser covers, no "hot spots." They also make no noise whatsoever. We also love the 4000k color temperature - bright white but not burning white. I'd be happy to buy more InLight products again - we also have their under-cabinet lighting and it works great as well.

Bad experience. No return.
I ordered two light fixtures. The first box was sealed when it arrived but when I opened it, the fixture was broken and it showed signs of previous unprofessional installation. The second light fixture was new but arrived in an open box. What is the difference between a new item, used item and an open box! And who gets to decide? I gave it the lowest rating possible because of the seller. The light fixture itself is not bad for the price. If you plan on using it in a room bigger than 12' x 12', you may want to consider a bigger and/or brighter light. The product does not seem to be made of high quality materials but does not look that sheep once installed.

This light is great, looks nice, is super bright, would highly recommend for the price! We replaced an expensive light that looked pretty but didn't generate much light also casted weird shadows on the walls and kept burning out all the time, we have had this one for over 3 months and no problems whatsoever, it lights up the whole entryway beautifully, it also works well on a dimmer without any buzzing sounds and was easy to install.

I bought three of these 2 weeks ago. I installed them as soon as they arrived. I wouldn't call it an easy install, but that's because any light installation happening 3 feet above your head is awkward, at best. But there was nothing extra tricky about the lights themselves - it's always about getting the wiring right. The lights themselves - I don't really understand the technology since there are no bulbs in them, but I can confirm that they are quite bright. You'll probably want to pair with a dimmer switch for a good range from dim all the way to super bright. I had read one review about the plastic component looking really cheap, and while I was worried about that upon ordering, I decided it was OK for the price. However, now that I have them installed, I can't tell it's a cheap plastic at all. I think the lights look great installed. Overall, I'm completely satisfied, especially if they run on as little power as they claim to. Two big thumbs up here!

Fully dimmable with no flickering using our existing 10-year old random-brand dimmer that came with the house. A trick for the install was to install the base plate per directions and then only install the plastic lens with the trim ring and the cap-nuts, but without the L shaped decorative brackets / clear plastic washers (i.e. only one object in each hand, not trying to juggle 4 things with two hands). Do those nuts up loose. Then one at a time, undo a nut, add the L shaped trim piece and washer while the other two nuts (the metal ones, not my assistants) hold the lens in place. The 3 pre-stripped and soldered wiring pig tails were long enough to allow good access. A second person was very useful to hold the fixture while attaching the supplied (good quality) wire nuts. Supplied dual purpose (Philips + straight) machine screws fit the standard outlet box and were long enough. Fixture is shipped mostly assembled but needs simple disassembly (no tools required) to install. Only tool required for project was a single screwdriver to mount the base to the ceiling box. Step-stools or step ladder required depending on the ceiling height and the length of installer's (and helper's) arms. PS: turn off the circuit at the breaker/fuse panel AND at the light switch since the light switch often only controls ONE of the two wires powering the light being removed. Light output on highest setting of dimmer is well over equivalent of a 100W incandescent bulb. Not a 150W though. Lowest setting is like a night light. Eventually will need to use a crevice tool or some canned air to remove the inevitable bug / dust that will get on the back side of the plastic lens, since the sides are fully open. The LED elements are permanent and integrated into the fixture base. Soldering and circuit board look average to good, so durability is expected to be good, especially since barring earthquakes, there will be no moving parts.

This light is very easy to install and looks better than its picture on Amazon. It is very bright and well worth the expense. We are very happy with this light.

I discovered this item while going over Youtube videos on home improvement. Bought two 18" fixtures to replace the two incandescent ones in the kitchen, each having three 60 W bulbs for a total of 360 W. Great upgrade. I also appreciate the nice sleek design. The kitchen is 12' by 22' and the ceiling is a bit more than 9' high. At maximum the LED fixtures give out more light than the old ones. Not to mention putting an end to climbing on a ladder to replace a burnt-out bulb. My only concern would be the possibility that the plastic cover takes on a yellowish hue over time.
