Review: My favorite keyboard! - Don't let the negative reviews fool you. This keyboard is phenomenal for *actually typing*. As a touch typist who appreciates tactile feedback but hates clicky noises, I have been very impressed in spite of a few quirks. There is at least one video review on YouTube where the guy completely roasts the keyboard, but then fires up TypeRacer and sets a personal record for typing speed. Twice in a row. The Matias "Quiet Click" switches have a distinct "bump" close to the top of the key travel, a little earlier than MX Blues, but they don't actually "click" at all. They make MX Brown switches feel like absolute garbage. There are no pings or squeaks or clicking sounds, and I even bought a refurbished unit! I remember the sound "softening" a little bit in the first few weeks after I bought it, so perhaps there is a break-in period for the switches. Look, the silver plastic housing wouldn't be my first choice either design-wise, but over several years it has not shown any signs of discoloration, warping or cracks. Mine never leaves the house, so YMMV, but I see no scuffing or scratches on mine, either. In spite of the plastic outer layer, the Laptop Pro feels well-built and heavy for its size! I'm not sure if it's a metal backing plate or a huge internal battery (it literally lasts months without charging!) but the thing doesn't move unless I want it to. I like the key caps, actually? It's a nice reminder of the way Mac users have been able to type all of these symbols and accents the same way for literally 30 years now. Yes, they are ABS instead of PBT, but I like the feel and you can always buy some PBT ALPS caps if you decide you really want to. After a couple years of use, there is slight wear on the legends of a few frequently-used keys, but they are not "worn off", just darker and still legible. The Bluetooth connection has been 100% reliable for me. It only remembers one device at a time, but re-pairing is as easy as holding the button down for a few seconds. For those experiencing interference, I suggest taking a careful look at what else could be creating wireless signals nearby. Its battery, again, seems to last for months, and I never bother to power it off, I just walk away and let it go to sleep on its own. Other reviewers have pointed out that Matias refused to service their older batteries or offer replacement parts, which is disappointing to hear, but I haven't had the need to look into it so far. The charge cable is strange: USB-A to USB-A. I hope I never lose it because I've never seen another one like it. It doesn't seem to draw power from my USB-C Power Delivery brick through a USB-C to USB-A cable, but it could just be the cable and charger that I tried. There used to be full-size, wired versions of these keyboards with the Quiet Click switches. They seem to have been out of stock for a long time now. Here's hoping for an updated version of both those and the Laptop Pro someday. Thanks Matias!
Review: *updated* Decent keyboard torpedoed by poorr quailty - 8-28-18 I emailed them and they suggested using compressed air which did work. so i guess this keyboard is just very sensitive to dust or debris getting under the keys. Given that they are mechanical that confuses me but nevertheless after a generous application of compressed air the keys no longer repeat. I have updated my rating 8-18-18 I changed my review scorre because as you can see some of the keys have decided to starrt repeating. the mac does not have autokey repeat so i am not holding them down to long orr hard, the keyboard is just getting flaky. Since I only bought it in April and use it maybe one hour a day, that is not much of an endorsement of their rquality.. Shame as I do like the key action. I notice that there is no mention of any warrranty and their website is very minimal, I am a little concerrrened. I have emailed them and if/when I hear rback I will update my review. =========================== on a scale of 1-10 with the very newest apple keyboard being a zero I would rate this a six. the keys are nice but it does have a cheap plasticky feel for a $150 keyboard. nevertheless it charged and paired effortlessly with my mac and so far so good. If you are looking for a clicky keyboard with good action this may be the best available.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ordered new, received used defective unit. Good keyboard except for the QC problems
*by R***N on July 23, 2020*

I ordered new from Amazon. I received used & defective. I returned it for a refund. I'm leaving off a star for QC problem with delete and left shift, but not taking any others off for the Amazon shipping a defective used keyboard out as new, since it's a fine keyboard for the parts that work. Immediately noticed: The Amazon-shipped FK303QBT had been bundled back into its retail box without being placed back in the protective bag. USB cable was left loose banging around too. Repacking also missed including the manual and warranty/guarantee pamphlet Matias normally includes with keyboards. I tried to use it anyway, in hopes of getting a partial refund to equal the price difference on the "used very good" offerings for the FK303QBT. Unfortunately, it had very clearly been previously returned due to multiple defects. I may have noted them all, or I may have missed something. The used FK303QBT I received had a noticeable rattle on right side. In addition, the battery would not charge; the keyboard was only operable when plugged in via USB, which kind of defeats the purpose for a bluetooth keyboard. Also, the keyboard would issue escape codes more often than not when releasing the left shift key when typing. As well, the delete key was intermittent, failing to trigger on about 10% of presses. On the good side: This keyboard has good feel, with generally even force required, on mechanical keys. Keypresses are sufficiently quiet for office work and typing while on videoconferences. I note that the shipping of a broken used product was almost certainly not the marketplace seller's fault, either. Amazon fulfillment had switcherooed the seller's product with other sellers units. Amazon tend to keep them all in a bunch, with original source info not preserved, and just grab one from the stash when fulfilling an order. This is an ongoing and serious frustration with Amazon -- not the first keyboard they've done this to me. I will now buy a replacement from a more reputable source
