My Review:Wow! I've been listening to this series on audiobook, but when book #2 ended in a cliffhanger, I had to grab this one to read on the kindle since I couldn't stand to wait for the audiobook to be released. That cliffhanger from #2....did not see that coming and everything about Jack and JJ's pasts kept my stomach in knots the first 50% of this book. So good!!But because so much of this book was built around their pasts rather than a murder mystery based in the small town of Bloody Mary, I felt like this book had a slightly edgier feel to it. With the involvement of the FBI, everything felt bigger and with Jack in the target, it definitely felt more suspenseful...and I liked that! There were points in this book where I wasn't sure if Jack and JJ were going to make it through, but that's a gift that Liliana Hart has....her characters have a real feel to them. They aren't perfect. They make mistakes and misjudgments because they're human (well in a fictional character sort of way). Jack definitely had a few missteps in this one, but for me, it just made me love JJ more. Seriously, this girl NEEDS Jack. She is so hard on herself and what she has to offer someone else. My heart hurts for her, but Jack...gah...Jack loves her so much and sees her, flaws and all. And usually just loves her all the harder for it. You can't help but fall in love with that man!!!Most series like this, especially with the ongoing romance, I would say that you need to read the books in order. Although I think you will get more out of each book if you do it that way, I also think it's perfectly fine to read these as stand-alones. Each story is strong enough on its own without needing the entire series. That's a skill from the author to be able to write these books independently like that without reviewing all the info every time. She weaves that info into the story brilliantly.I highly recommend this series. They are promoted as mystery, but with the high quotient of romance in the stories too, I'd reclassify them as romantic suspense...and it's good RS.

One awesome read
One super read.JJ and Jack are finally together. JJ is living with Jack and the sex is awesome. Of course the Bloody Mary gossip mill is running full speed ahead.Jack wants to marry JJ and JJ wants to marry Jack. Problem is JJ has loads of baggage and she thinks Jack will get tired of that baggage and tired of her.Jack also has an election coming up. Jack loves her to distraction and always has. Jack could care less about the election. Jack has the experience to work for anyone and the wealth to not have to. Jack gets offers of employment all the time and the FBI is always recruiting him. The FBI among many others.JJ and Jack get a call about a body. A body thats washed up on the shore at the Caledon State Park. Jack is supposed to be on vacation but he heads out with JJ.JJ determines the body has been in the water for at least two days. A body with no ID and no face. A body with two bullet holes in the back of the head. A murder for sure. JJ is going to have to try and gets prints. Not easy as the mans skin is already pulling away from his fingers. The body also has a tattoo. A SWAT tattoo. One all SWAT brothers wear. Jack recognizes it immediately but with no face Jack can't tell who the man is.JJ finally tells Jack about her Father. A Father who's very much alive. A Father who wants the boxes that JJ took from the Pocono's. Something else for JJ to worry about. So begins one damned fine read. This one has the murders of all but Jack and one other member of his DC SWAT team, revenge, the FBI, Jack as a possible suspect, Ben Carver an FBI friend of Jacks, an old flame of Jacks, an organization behind the murders, a group of motorcycle gang members, the wife of a man who betrayed and shot Jack, three killers on the loose, JJ dealing with her loads of baggage and JJ and Jack in a fight for their lives.Just one super read. Five Stars and then some.

Continuity issues
I really liked the first book in this series. The second was okay, but it really bothered me that so many things contradicted the first book, like the author forgot what she had written. (The town all of the sudden hating JJ when in book one they were trying to set her up with a husband and seemed caring for the most part. JJ finding out Mooney really killed her parents but that was all forgotten after book one. The list could go on...)This book was even worse when it came to continuity errors. I'm pretty surprised no one else has mentioned it in the reviews. Am I really the only person who wondered at the HUGE change in the story of why Jack left SWAT? In the first book it says his last op with SWAT was drug related and he was the only one of his 7 man team to survive--that he took 3 bullets during that and barely lived and decided to resign. The story was the same in book two. Now all of the sudden, it was a bank heist and only one of his ten man team died?? And the whole plot of this book is based on that!JJ was more tolerable in this book. I liked her a lot in book one but she drove me nuts in the second book. Although this one happened only a few weeks after book two, all of the sudden she's mostly over almost being killed when it totally overtook her whole life in the second book?I probably won't read book four, whenever it comes out. And I'm pretty irritated that I paid $4.99 for books two and three. I think the author needs to start keeping better notes so she stops contradicting herself when she continues the series...

Have had this book
Since 2017. Loved it then and love it again this time. Read the reviews on the next books. Too many negative reviews. Needed better proof reading. Too short. Felt rushed. Ended at 88%. Didn't answer all the questions the story brought up. Their were more things said, but these were pretty much the ones mentioned the most. I agree with one review. Ending at 88% at $5.99 a book is ridiculous! I would have read the whole series, but not at $5.99. I got this one free, for some reason. I read pretty much two books a day. You might consider Kindle Unlimited. It's the best!! I read the best books, by the best authors! I highly recommend this book.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrel (J.J. Graves Mysteries) by Liliana Hart.
Best that you read the books in order, as her relationship with parents and boyfriend builds and breaks through story lines.... Loved all 3 books in this series. Can't wait for the next one to be released in the Autumn. Jaye (J.J. Graves) has had a bit of a hap hazzard life, but as the local coroner and undertaker, life becomes very interesting...... especially as her old school pale is the local Sheriff... Not all runs smoothly. Its slowly smoulders in the first book, but the well worth waiting for in her relationship stakes.

Another great read in this series
I've become totally captivated by the JJ Graves series so I had to download the third instalment.Like the previous two novels this is a good story with the feisty character (JJ Graves) coming to terms with her feeling for the sheriff and her parents. This instalments story centres around the sheriff and his past catching up with the present. It's an intriguing story spattered with episodes of tasteful written sex and amusing banter.A good read.

I found some parts of the book simply unbelievable particularly the parts including the files, money and information retrieved from the family cottage. Really would some hotshot sheriff leave $1M dollars in his home safe or not copy of the any documentation particularly when he knows the man is back to collect it? Shame as other books in the series were enjoyable. Thank goodness it was only $.99!

Dirty Rotten Scoundrel
Loved it as like with the previous 2 J.J.GRAVES Novels your mouth is in your heart as instead of it being Jaye's life in the balance of someone trying to kill its Jack's life & the Men of his old SWAT Team whose lives are in the balance. It's a MUST READ ;-D Though I just wonder if we're going to see Jack & JJ get married & if their lives will become quieter or not ;-)

another great read
I love this series. Liliana Hart really does deliver a great plot and a cast of charters that you get quickly attached too. Having read the first two books it was great to catch up with J.J. and her little gang again to see what they were up to. These cozy mysteries are just getting better and better my only problem now is having to wait until number 4 comes out !!!!
