I purchased this out of ongoing frustration with a competing item that was literally only a few dollars cheaper. Below is a list of all of the items this stirrer aces, and which the marginally cheaper version bombed.1. The top plate thoughtfully has its center clearly marked, making it VERY easy to align the center of the container whose contents are to be stirred and the stir bar directly over the magnetic center. This eliminates small and light containers from being jostled into a new position if one had to guess at the actual physical center position.3. The stir bar starts moving when the unit is turned on, even at its slowest speed. Lesser models require turning to a sufficiently high speed for the stir bar to "catch", then the speed turned down to something usable.4. The power jack is high quality, and the included power supply appears to be very high quality as well5. This unit is basically silent! Compared to others with loud motors, this just spins the stir bar in almost complete silence.The quality of this unit belies its low price. The packaging, the magnetic stir bars, and stir bar retriever tool are also much higher quality than I'd expected, and I'm VERY impressed with quality and value of this stirrer.

I nearly didn’t purchase this stirrer because of its size and secondly because it looked like the electric cable had been photoshopped out. I did however like the overall design and size of the stirrer so I bought it. It’s been continuously running for a few days now without feeling hot so I give it five stars based on durability and price. The electric cable matches many people’s countertop color so it almost “disappears” based on color. Glad I did not pass on buying it as traditional magnet stirrers have a box like look to them and can be more expensive.

It spins very fast and mixes well I use it for coffee and spice chai the one I took it with me on a car trip the charger broke

It works pretty well on thin liquids. I tried to use this for my epoxy resin project and it does not work for that

I got this for some stuff I need to shake and mix for about 5 minutes a few times a month but I find that I use it every day. I make my coffee and put my normal ridiculous amount of sugar and creamer in it, drop the little pill looking stirrer in it and BAM. Not even a sugar crystal left in the bottom of the cup once I'm finished.I also have some non-dishwasher safe, plastic juice containers that I used to have to use a bottle brush on but now I just put some soap and water in the bottle and let this mixer do the washing.I use a bent paper clip to fish the magnetic stirrer out of the glass for hot coffee. The paper clip picks it right up and I rinse it off and am ready to use it again.Very cool little piece of tech.
