I grew up reading these books in 1st grade and now my granddaughter enjoys them. She is a very fluent reader and was reading from age 3. These books are so funny and entertaining for kiddos.

After struggling with reading last year, my 2nd grader was ready to update her preschool books. She read one of these books at school, and fell in love with Amelia Bedelia. After reading 2 Amelia books over & over & over again, she asked if we could get her another book. I ordered this set, and on most nights, I can hear her reading them out loud to herself.

These books are so cute and fun, but I wouldn’t label them as level 1 readers. Luckily my daughter is still loving them though!
