Great photographic plates and illustrations for an introductory course in ...
Great photographic plates and illustrations for an introductory course in human anatomy. Years ago Dr. F. Martini and M. Timmons co authored "Human Anatomy" (ISBN 0 13 444134 6) 1995 with Dr. Willam C. Ober (art coordinator and illustrator) , C Garrison, R.N. (Illustrator), and Dr. Kathleen Welsh (clinical consultant), and R Hutchings (biomedical photographer). This is an outstanding accompaniment to that book or any undergraduate anatomy course / text. Martini's Atlas of the Human Body is an outstanding collection of illustrations, photographs, and "real world" cadaver and diagnostic medical images. The Atlas features large plates of superior quality which could be removed from the atlas and wall mounted / framed. The images in the Atlas are regionally organized. The Atlas makes it easy to relate clear diagrammatic Illustrations of an anatomy textbook to the real world of dissection images and medical scans. Along with the "Human Anatomy" text, "Martini's Atlas of the Human Body" is a must have for any Pre-Med or Pre-Nursing student who desires a clear and eloquent understanding of human anatomy (along with Netter's Anatomy Flash Cards). Lastly, The Atlas contains a separate section of a visual summary of human embryological development (just in case your anatomy course covers that topic).

Same information, less expensive
Ok so I bought this lab manual because I'm taking A&P I and because I'm studying to become an M.D.This book has great detailed pictures and does a good job of showing various structures from different sides. It has a lot of cadavers and shows different layers of dissection (superficial to deep). The book is interesting to look at on its own, but its real strength lies in being a supplemental study guide to my main A&P text (Martini's 9th edition). I don't have to flip between pages when I'm reading anymore; I can just have my atlas book opened up alongside my main text and identify structures as I read along. It's not necessary to have this text, but it's a good study aid. What really drove me to buy this book was its price. It was $6.99 and eligible for prime. That deal was way too good to pass up for me. It's the penultimate edition, but it has the same information at the latest edition. I know because I compared my atlas book with another classmate's book (the latest edition with the blue cover). Overall, this book is a nice investment for anyone who wants to make their studying easier and for anyone who just likes to look at cool pictures of cadavers.

A Must For Any Health Professional
As a nurse and now Family Nurse Practitioner student, I am always looking for an easy to use tool for quick reference in regards to bones, muscles and the landmarks on the skin to find them. This is an amazing atlas with internal pictures and external pictures. It is easy to use and a must to keep around for quick reference.

exactly what I was looking for
This was the exact book that I was looking for for my anatomy and physiology class. I was recomended, but not required, but students from previous classes said that it helped alot. This one had a different cover, but was page for page the exact same as the one sold used in the campus bookstore for $25.00. Extremely happy with the condition and most of all, the price!

Great book for anatomy and physiology class
Great book for anatomy and physiology class. Has extra information in the back of the book that A Brief Atlas of the Human Body doesn't have. Both are great books. Definitely worth the purchase.

A MUST for any A&P class
This is most definitely an excellent companion for ANY A&P class. The photos are of the human body and they are very clearly labeled. As another review indicated this book is not for the faint hearted. This is a study guide for anyone going into the health field.

yummy
Bought this for my partner who is studying nursing, a good accurate volume, but larger than A4, glossy clear images.I have no doubt that when making the Hannibal tv series they either used this very book or one similar as a reference, stick a few peppers and onions in and you would swear you were watching stills from hannibal's kitchen. Worth the money for aspiring cannibals and medical students alike.
