Clarity C 200 phone
I received the Clarity C 200 Phone promptly and in good condition. I have used it very little, so cannot comment on how long it will last. However; it appears to be well made and functions correctly. The boost switch has a "solid" feel and the "boost" works. I have moderate hearing loss and can hear nicely with maximum boost. I find that I must have the ear-piece tight against my ear or I get feed-back, which I consider a normal situation. The ringer is LOUD. I wish it were adjustable instead of just "on or "off"; but it is as advertised. The C 200 is line powered; therefore, it requires no batteries or AC, and will work if the power is off, which is one reason I ordered it. I keep it between my computer tower and monitor on top of my desk. That way; if I need to talk to someone while trouble-shooting,I can. I have read some reviews that complained that the keypad lighting was not bright enough. I have no complaint about that. After all; one can only draw a limited amount of current from that small line. Overall: I am satisfied with the C 200 and give it five stars.

Very good phone that you can optionally significantly amplify the sound ...
Very good phone that you can optionally significantly amplify the sound by pushing a button. . The phone received was technically a Clarity C210 model rebranded as a C200. I believe the two models are the same, the C210 was originally manufactured to be sold at Radio Shack. One negative is that you are supposed to be able to wall mount it but the tab described in the literature that allows wall mounting is not there. Correction: I was able to wall-mount the C200/C210 phone. The phone manual shows special "Tabs" on the phone base which are necessary to hold the handset in a vertical wall-mounted position. As shipped these "Tabs" at the top of a small plastic piece in the base are missing. It is necessary to use a small blade or screwdriver to push up the small plastic piece, reverse it and slide it back in to get the actual tabs. It is a nice amplified phone for wall mounting because it optionally amplifies the sound without requiring external power. As noted in the manual Important: A modular wall jack with raised mounting pins is required for installation as a Wall Unit. This wall plate is not supplied with the phone. You also need a short phone cord. I don't remember if this short cord was supplied or not.

OK Listen up people
This is an excellent phone. Someone wrote that they hear a bit of an echo, I did too when I was too close to my computer. This phone has awesome clarity and that is what we all expect. Here is something no one mentions... the size of the phone. It is perfect for arthritic hands. Has a good weight AND... you can prop it up to your ear with your shoulder... woo hoooo! Someone also mentioned the boost button and describe it as kinda awkward. There is also a volume button and it works very well. All in all, for a $25.00 phone I can't ask for more. It seems very well made. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one of their high end phones. Thanks Clarity. Oh the reason for 4 out of 5 stars... I wanted a red phone lol

Increases the volume
I like the small size, which doesn't take up much room on my desk. The color is ok...I'd prefer it to be more white but I can live with it. It took me a while to realize that I needed to use the boost button along with the volume control wheel; I thought the wheel increased the volume itself and the boost made it even louder. I finally realized I have to press the boost button and then adjust the volume wheel. It made a terrible screech at the highest level but when I "wheeled" it down it adjusts to a level that I do find helpful, without the screech. It sometimes produces a tinny sound when I speak, which is a little annoying but I can live with it. The ringer is actually a nice, old fashioned sound, but way too soft for a phone for hearing impaired people. My old Princess phone had a much louder ring. I think they have just come out with a newer version that has a louder ring. The buttons are very large, which I didn't need but it may be helpful to people with vision problems. They are sometimes a little stiff and don't push down all the way. I decided to keep the phone because it does increase the volume of the incoming speaker, which is the main reason I chose it.

Don't buy this fraudulent, Clarity brand, corded, amplified phone
If this Clarity corded, amplified phone was priced at $16.95, which is the exact same price as the AT&T TRIMLINE 210 Corded Home Phone (Beige color), then I would give this Clarity amplified phone 2 stars and the AT&T TRIMLINE 210 Corded Home Phone 4 stars (1)for being slightly louder than the Clarity phone can be at its maximum possible volume and (2)for being much simpler to operate than the Clarity amplified phone. It's true that the volume wheel on the Clarity amplified phone affects the volume. It's also true that the Boost Volume button makes the volume about 30% louder. However, even with the volume wheel at maximum plus the Boost Volume button pressed to be activated, this Clarity amplified phone is not quite as loud as the AT&T 210 TRIMLINE phone. Also, the AT&T 210 TRIMLINE phone is always set at its maximum volume, which isn't quite loud enough for many, many people, while the Clarity amplified phone is slightly less loud at its maximum possible volume, which requires the volume wheel at maximum plus the Boost Volume button activated. Conclusion: This Clarity amplified phone would be 2 stars if it were priced at $16.95. Because it is priced at the fraudulently high price of $37.99, I give it only 1 star. Avoid this fraudulent, "amplified" phone by Clarity.

Meh...
Didn't work right out of the box. That's why it's only one star...you'd think a companies quality control would catch something like that... Waiting to see if the replacement is working... Update..have to high five Amazon replacement...It came before I got the old one to the UPS store...just give it to the clerk with the scannable code, they box it and ship it... The replacement worked just fine....great volume for my old ears....

clarity c200
I bought this phone to help out my land lord who is 98 years young. He uses ahearing aid, but heard ok with it. However, talking with him on the phone was futile at best. I read mixed reviews, but decided to try it anyway. True to the reviews, there is a lot of " feedback" on my end of the phone. Also true to the reviews, he said the ring is barely audible. why would a phone designed for the hard of hearing not have an extra loud ringtone???? Silly. Now after having it for about a month, he says the sound "fades in and out, sometimes it works fine, other times hecan't hear a thing". I guess you get what you pay for, but there are a lot of older folks on right budgets who might make this choice. I think they will be sorely disappointed.

I CAN HEAR YOU NOW . . .
I live in a 500-unit concrete apartment building by the river between Canada and the U.S. I love it here, but I'm on the wrong side of the complex to get good phone reception with my cell phone -- all the cell towers are away from the river. My phone worked any place, except at home. Three cell phones later, I decided to get a corded phone I could use through my computer at home. I chose this one because, at 78, I really need help hearing better. This Clarity C200 works beautifully and even has an adjustable amplifier that helps me hear every peep.

Loud Ringer - Great for the Elderly
Bought this phone for my Dad who resides in a LTC home. He is hard of hearing this phone is great for him. There is also a redial feature, which works great, as at times he has trouble pressing the keys. Highly recommend this phone.

Works well.
Very clear sound. Push button to amplify each time the phone is used - if needed. Amount of amplification stays where set. Perfect if one user needs amplification and the other not.

Satisfactory Phone
No call display. The sound is adequate but it won't work with my high end hearing aids. It'smainly for speaking on without hearing aids and provides a level of amplification that may work for some better than others. You have to remember to push the boost button with every single call or sound could be inaudible for some people. A very basic phone.. It doesn't amplify beyond the single boost so if you need more than that you might need a phone with higher amplification.
