A: Those are meant to be drilled out or cut to seal around the cable you use with the switch.

**Q: Can this be used to control a single phase compressor motor**
A: Yes it can I used it to run a single phase 240 volt compressor and it will work with 120 also

**Q: Is this water proof?**
A: No it is not sealed up like waterproof switches are

**Q: Looking to control single phase 120V wood shop equipment.  Will this switch latch on at 120 Volts and work with single phase?**
A: Yes, it will, just use one of the three sets of contacts.

Installed for pump switch. Works perfect. And the switch stays locked in either on or off position. Dislike ground capability. No place to hide wire inside box. For 240, it’s a 3 wire box, so ground is outside. If used for 110, you can use all three poles. Just remember, BLACK (RED 240v) are the LOAD WIRE. WHITE is NUTRAL. Make sure all connections are tight and works great.
