Much better than expected
OK, everybody should know they are buying a very inexpensive machine with a Celeron processor. I had a specific purpose in mind for it, which it works splendidly for. I figured I was going to have to do more work to get the thing running good. But it actually runs pretty good out of the box. Since I'm not using it for web content or foreign code, after reading some reviews, I decided to immediately disable Windows update before even connecting it to the Internet. I think that's one reason mine runs actually pretty darn good for tasks that I thought it would struggle with. If you need a simple machine to process simple tasks and keep your expectations i check, I don't think you're going to do much better for the price.

Extremely Impressed
I have a 10 year old asus notebook computer that needed lots of hardware upgrades to maintain. Last week, I got the “white screen of death.” It still works when connected to a tv via the HDMI port.I shopped and found this model on Amazon. Many reviews were negative.I placed the order because Amazing has an amazing return policy.I could’ve saved $100 because I ordered the larger storage drive. I could’ve bought the 64 gb basic model and upgraded to a 1 terabyte SSD for the same. My fault. This little notebook computer is amazingly fast and rugged. It is just as fast as my overpriced Dell laptops.I rely on a portable notebook to carry in my truck for work and for vacations.I had no problems with performance or installing software.Cloning a 1 terabyte ssd was easy, thanks to YouTube and Acronis software. I should not have a need to carry an external drive for large files. They claim ten (10) battery life. I used if for three (3) hours and 95% battery remaining. That’s impressive. My suggestion, try it. I love it thus far. When I recently asked a computer repair guy about a reputable brand, he said, “they’re all the same.”I have 2 Dell laptops that failed within two (2) years. I can repair desktops, but not laptop’s because of the size and detail.I have faith in this notebook computer and I’m very impressed.

Not bad for the price.
I purchased this to replace my old chromebook, since they're the same size and I was tired of the limited function in it. This has been a pretty good replacement, especially since it's around the same price. It's not amazing, don't expect to be blown away, but it's good for simple tasks such as (light) gaming, browsing, listening to music, streaming, checking emails, etc...The few complaints I have are trivial aside from one. It could be something I did or maybe I got a faulty model but occasionally the touch pad gets "sticky". It doesn't respond properly for a few minutes. Cursor gets jumpy and doesn't move as much as it should or behaves as if there are two fingers on the touchpad. (Not accidentally brushing it, tried cleaning it and messing with the sensitivity with no luck.)Trivial complaints:- Charger is bulky and awkward (Personal taste)- Power button on the SIDE of the laptop (I tend to carry mine around with me and it's been an adjustment to make sure I don't smash the power button on accident)- It's crashed a couple times (My fault I think, trying to push the limits of the thing lol)Pros:- Affordable- Does it's job- Convenient for travel- Good performance for the priceNote for anyone who may be looking to game on it:I haven't played anything too demanding but I've played several roms and it starts lagging on NDS roms. Not very powerful, but I think you could get away with something like... minecraft on low settings on it. I'll update at a future date when I get around to some more demanding games.Gaming Update:I've been able to play the following games with no major issues:Minecraft Java (Lowest settings)Stardew ValleyRimworldGBA Romsand several misc indie gamesProbably not good for demanding games but strong enough to play some games on.

I think i just got a dud
We had to return this. One day with no warning, it just wouldn't recognize the hard drive. Luckily, there was ONE DAY left in the rerturn window. This is a small, bare bones model, and I got it for my kid for homeschool. It seemed to work great, not sure why the hard drive died so fast. The only issue I had is that her homeschool curriculum is heavily video based and it could go really slow at times loading videos but I was willing to deal with that to have a laptop that was a little tougher since it would be in kid hands. However, I know she didn't drop it or do anything, it was working and sitting on the coffee table one evening as I was going through her answers on a quiz with her. We left it there, went to bed, went to start it up again next morning, didn't recognize hard drive. We didn't bother calling the company for help since we were in our return window. So, I can't comment on how helpful they would be. This would not be appropriate for a high school kid or a kid into making or editing videos or into gaming, it was just too slow for that. But until it died, it seemed okay for a 7 year old's first computer. If I had to do it over again (we ended up buying one at a brick and mortar store since we needed to continue homeschool), I'd have opted for a model with a bit more ram. Also, I didn't think I wanted a touch screen but after watching my daughter try to touch the screen so many times because she was used to her tablet, I would recommend other parents looking for a kids' laptop consider a touch screen. The touch pad was frustrating for her to not be able to see where the left and right clicks were but once we added a wireless mouse, she did fine.

Nice computer, bad operating system
I bought it because ASUS is one of my favorite over all computers, however, the Microsoft 11 Operating system would not allow me to add one o my children without signing her up with the Microsoft store. I returned the computer for credit. (thank you Amazon)
