Holds well, retracts fine, closes fully without incident - make sure your trim is *flat*!
Screen has been installed for about a week now with zero issues. Kids are appreciative of the ability to roll the window down to allow them air and to see better while providing additional protection from the summer sun. A gel-type adhesive is provided that sufficiently adheres the shade to my door trim (make sure you clean the trim with alcohol to remove dirt, and use the included adhesion promoter!), however it is not a 3M brand adhesive that is used - the gel adhesive has no deaignation whatsoever, the clip in the upper picture had M on the adhesive however 3M typically includes their signature emblem on the peel off tape cover. The shade mechanism appears to work fine, and the rod that holds the clip on can be pushed out to disengage the clip (at first thought of detracting for this, however I realized if the seller included spare clips it actually allows replacement of the clips in the case scenario a child grabs and breaks the clip - recommend to seller to include a spare set of the clips as a sign of longevity). Housing is made of metal, shade mechanism had a metal tube with plastic end caps but does not seem flimsy in any way. Overall, if you have a flat window trim edge in your car I would recommend this - if you are unsure it is flat, put a ruler on it and a white piece of paper behind the ruler. If you can see more than 3mm or so of white beneath the ruler, your trim has a slight curve to it which could affect adhesion of the shade. Will update if there are any issues regarding operation or longevity, but so far so good. Also - please do not drive with the windows down and the shade hooked to the extra piece - wind could either destroy the shade or break the attaching piece.Update 5/12/2022 - sun shades are still going strong, all parts still intact and holding fine to the trims they were attached to. The upper hook mounts are showing signs of letting go through no fault of their own - they were placed on an angled piece of metal with only about 50% of the adhesive making contact. Shades have survived everything that has been thrown at them, including my daughter throwing a temper tantrum and grabbing / pulling it with all her might on an angle in an attempt to destroy it.I have left these hooked into the upper hook mounts for multiple days in a closed car in the sun and have had no issues other than the one mentioned above (which is not fair to hold against the product). I would definitely recommend these still!

Works great. Great idea.
This is a great way to add retractable sunshades to a car that does not have them built in and looks better than most of the add on types. On of mine the plastic end cap popped off and I had to learn how to put it back together as the spring lost tension. Other than that they are great. For those that had immediate tearing I see that there is a thin rod in the top portion that if defective Could tear it apart.
