Works great, sounds better than oem
I bought this stereo to upgrade the base model one in my mk6 Jetta. It comes with a pretty good backup camera and two wire harness adapters. Installing is pretty quick and easy and the instructions are pretty easy to read. The stereo shuts off properly when the key is removed so there is no battery drain. The "can box" adds cool features I didn't have before such as showing when doors are opened and it also shows information about the engine like temp and oil level. Apple car play and Android auto work great with cords or through Bluetooth. The "voice" button activates Siri quickly every time making hands free driving easy. This stereo does not have navigation,,it relys on car play or android auto for navigation, which works very well. This does not run on Windows CE or Android software, it is some kind of custom software. The menus and settings are very simple and easy to understand. Sound quality is actually pretty good too, it has equalizer and loud settings that make this stereo sound better than the oem stereo. Overall, this thing is fantastic. It functions better than the RNS or RCD stereos in my other VWs.

Cannot Make or Receive Calls While Using CarPlay
This is a provisional review, pending a successful resolution of my issue from the manufacturer. I'll update this based on the final outcome of my problem. I'm only writing this to let folks know it might be a major flaw with this head unit, for VW Jetta's to be specific. Mine is installed in a 2013 Jetta SE. If anyone has run across this issue and found a resolution, I'd love to know. I've tried all of the online recommendations, including using an "official" Apple cable, and then some, without luck. Install was super easy, configuration was easy, build quality is surprisingly nice, fit and appearance is as close to OEM as you'll find, steering wheel controls worked out-of-the-box, and wired CarPlay works fine, EXCEPT, incoming and outgoing calls have no audio. I can actually use the screen on the unit to place a call, but nothing comes through the car speakers. If the person answers, it's a dead zone. I can answer an incoming call on the screen, but again, no audio. When connected to wired CarPlay, the connected phone will ring, and if you answer the phone itself, nothing. No incoming or outgoing audio. If you place a call, it's dead silence. If the other person answers, still dead silence. Zero sounds or audio when receiving or placing calls. If this can be resolved, it's a no-brainer replacement for the factory radio in earlier Jetta's. There was a mention in the manual that calls can't be made when connected to CarPlay, but I can't imagine that would be the case. Fumbling around to disconnect CarPlay, and make/take calls through BlueTooth would not only be a massive inconvenience, but downright dangerous. Again, I'll update based on my final results. *****EDIT***** Unfortunately, despite all efforts, I was unable to get hands-free calling to work so I had to return it. Their customer service is responsive, and I'd have given the unit at least a 4 had it worked. Could be my specific car, but just something to note. I did confirm that unplugging the phone and exiting CarPlay does allow hands-free calls via BlueTooth, but that defeats the purpose of having CarPlay.

Solid 2014 Jetta Radio Replacement
I bought this stereo for my 2014 VW Jetta SE and I'm so far satisfied. It was very easy to install. The plastic paneling comes off easily enough and there's plenty of videos online to help show you how. Once the panel was off the stock radio comes out by unscrewing a few screws and disconnects with a little maneuvering of the toggles on the cable connections. The new stereo then is installed following a wiring diagram that comes with the stereo. It's fairly straightforward. The only trick was figuring out which wire was correct for the radio antenna. I was happy to find out that my steering wheel volume controls work with this stereo. As for the functionality of the stereo, it's fairly simple. It connects to your phone via Bluetooth or USB connection and uses Android Auto or Apple Car play. It also has a solid radio function. It more or less allows you to have navigation and casting functionality. It also has the ability to add a backup camera which I have not yet done but plan to do in the future. There are some simple options for set up such has the lighting color when the headlights are on as well as options for the backup cam and background of the device. There is also a ln option to get details on your cars systems. It's a neat option however it's only in metric. There in no option to change the readings to standard American settings which is a bit of a bummer. I very much love that this unit fit into my car seamlessly and without any further modification. It appears as if it belongs in the car and looks good. I love that I can change the color of the buttons at night to match my cars trim. For the money I'd say it's a good value. It's nothing over the top, however it's a solid alternative to the stock radio. I do wish it had satellite radio functionality.

Installed in 2017 VW Jetta GLI - will need 52pin connector
This fits perfectly, after I purchased the 52 pin connector. The Instructions did have a nice photo of what I needed to fit my car and suggested I reach out to customer service to make sure I had the correct wiring harness. The customer service department was extremely quick in the response time I waited less than 10 hours to get a response. They included a link for the correct And answered my other questions as well. the additional wire harness was $20 and found here on Amazon. Thankfully the instructions did have several troubleshooting solutions. I personally ran into the sound not working after everything was hooked up properly. I followed the troubleshooting solution of unhooking my negative battery terminal for 10 minutes to let everything reset. After the 10 minutes, reconnected the terminal to the battery turned the car on and boom sound. Now, when I did this, I had a few warning signs come up on my dash and my tire gauge was flashing that they were low however, after a quick drive around the block, those lights went away as the car reset. I did not have to purchase an additional camera or any additional controls for my steering wheel. This unit connected with my existing camera and works perfect with my steering wheel controls without any additional work needing to be done on my part. Once I got the proper Connector it literally took me 20 minutes from popping the trim off to popping the trim back on. This was very much plug-in play And I spent $150 between both purchases and 20 minutes of my time.

Apple CarPlay ! 2011 Tiguan 2.0 T
Just installed the awesome screen today ! So far so good, lots of people in the comments complaining about lag but truthfully have not had that issue. Apple CarPlay connects right away to my phone when I turn the car on never have to reconnect it myself. Easiest set up, really is plug and play. The fit was just perfect ! The sound quality I set it to โ loudโ in the settings and it sounds even better than my original stereo did ! Works super well, I shared a long video to kinda show y'all the perks of it. Truly is nice to have such an awesome upgrade to my car ! Will be purchasing the backup camera as well to have that awesome feature ! The video I shared has more info ! Definitely worth the purchase ! Took me 10-15 min to install as well.

Ehh
I've had this radio in my 2011 Jetta for around 5 months now. Pros: Fit like a glove. Super easy to install. The Apple Carplay works great! Cons: You have to turn it off when you turn your car off, it is not automatic. It is super brightttt. I even have it on night mode and it's almost blinding at night. It frequently goes in and out. It gets overwhelmed easily if you're changing songs a lot, and will turn off. I just reboot it and it's fine. You get what you pay for with these. It's definitely not perfect, but it does the job.

It Works great
I bought this after trying an Android-based radio that was extremely difficult to install. This radio was a breath of fresh air. It was plug-and-play. It connected to the CAN-bus on my VW CC without any configuration on my part. It did take a couple of restarts to get everything working, but that was no big deal. Because this radio is Linux, not Android-based, it is pretty basic. Android Auto connects without issue (I only use wired due to phone battery drain with Android Auto). The display resolution is not great, but it gets the job done and is great for this price point. Bluetooth audio works great. There is one screen, Car Info that could be great, but for people in the USA is not. It displays info on your car like fuel level, tire pressure, etc. Unfortunately, it is metric only. It cannot be toggled to imperial units. Fortunately, the info is available on the car's instrument panel so it isn't a big deal and doesn't diminish the radio. It would be cool if I could also change the screen color theme from blue to red to match the rest of the car. I recommend this radio if you are looking for a good upgrade for your VW.

Don't Expect It to Work for More than A Few Months
Unit was super easy to install, in both our 2013 Passat and our 2010 Jetta. They both worked great for a while, then the problems started with Apple CarPlay. All of the sudden, CarPlay will quit, and to get the phone connected again, you have to restart your phone, often multiple times. It's gotten to where in a 90-minute trip, it will happen 10-20 times, in either car with either phone. It's incredibly frustrating and we are now looking for replacements for both vehicles. EDIT: Company sent two updates (firmware and software). We applied the updates fairly easily (helps that I work in tech). We tried the updates, and encountered additional problems. The radio decided that it would no longer turn off. Volume stopped working, both from the console and the steering wheel. Bluetooth was no longer visible to phones. It wouldn't recognize the USB drive to reset it. We had to hard reset it from the button on the front in order to have the radio power off as to not drain the battery. Unfortunately, there is something very, very wrong with this stereo. We purchased a replacement from another company.
