The pillow is pretty much the length of the top portion of the seat so if the child head is around that area it should work. My son is maybe around 5"3 and he uses it, the top of his head ends up about right in the middle of the pillow. I test drove this on my Florida flight. In short, it doesn't work - it doesn't stay mounted on the airline seat, keeps moving, and doesn't support your head. Also, it could interfere with the seat back screen when you clip it on. And I'm pretty sure that the person in back of you would not be pleased. Shame, I really wanted this to work.
