Better Comfort, Same Sound Signature (ish)
I'm new to headphones. After a lot of research into a new pair of headphones to game with, I stumbled upon Z Reviews and the growing trend of using honest-to-God audiophile level headphones for gaming as opposed to the typical, almost yearly "upgrade" headset. My gateway drug was the Sennheiser PC37X Headset, which admittedly, sounded amazing, but was as comfortable on my head as a vice-grip. I couldn't do anything (including stretching them out) to fix the comfort-level, but tried relentlessly because I really, really enjoyed the sound. A couple weeks of pain/pressure, I gave up. Then started really digging into headphones, with an emphasis on comfort. That led me to the Sennheiser 660s - reviewed as being a spectacular sound signature, great for gaming, and comfortable with regards to clamp force. An amazing wife's surprise birthday present later - I was impressed! It was far more comfortable. I bought a new DAC and AMP to power them, burned them in over the course of a week, and suddenly I'm a 99% of the time headphone user when at my computer, where before headsets were for gaming with friends only. HOWEVER...much as I loved the headphones, the ear pads are thin as all hell. I was adjusting the cups pretty regularly during use. After my wife invested in some replacement pads and loved them for her headphone of choice, I started looking around. So copious amounts of research later, I stumble upon Dakoni's offerings. At this point, Comfort was the biggest concern, naturally, but my second biggest was not changing the sound signature, which ear pads CAN AND WILL DO. I'm super picky, hate change, so this was a rough purchase. I bought these and the other Amazon offered ear pads (velour hybrid I think?) with the promise that they were completely backed by a return if you didn't like them. The Velour came in first and proved to be comfortable, but the sound was just....muffled. Different. Too different. It just wasn't at all what I wanted. For the price, I would rather just suck it up with the original pads and keep that signature. Then, these came in. The sound signature was damn near identical. They were comfortable. The leather feel was also cooler on my head, which I greatly preferred over the velour stock pads. And while the sound signature was not PERFECT to the stock pads, the difference was (astonishingly) a significant (not over-powering) bass boost and that was it. If there is a touch taken off the top frequencies, I honestly can't tell it. But the bass boost, while awkward at first for an open-back headphone (known for not really having an "impactful" bass), was kind of amazing after a couple hours of getting used to it. I'm actually writing this review after having them a couple of months. Good quality pads, far above and beyond the comfort of the stock pads, the sound signature still nearly identical, but with a bass boost....it's like an honest upgrade to my headphones. Very much worth the price tag of $70-$80 bucks. And while I don't expect them to die or rip up or fall apart, if they did, I'd be buying the exact same damn thing to replace them. They are that good. If you are on the fence about this product and you love the sound of your current headphones, these are the pads to try to maintain that sound signature. Because even if you hate them, the free return for not liking them is about as hassle-free as you can get. The Dakoni brand has made me a fan for life.

hard stitching around the front edges of the earcups make these less comfortable then the PU ones
the hard stitching around the front edges of the earcups where your ears are most likely to touch the ear cups make these comfortable then the PU ones,i think the sound is alright there is more more bass then stock velour pads, and i took out the foam inserts too so there is also more highs too it sounds much clearer this way pairs very well with a nice DAC but it is a little harsh without those pads.

Perfect for 58x Jubilee's. Buy them now!
Awesome earpads! Super comfortable. I had an issue with the original earpads on the 58x Jubilee with my ears touching the inside of the headphone. These fit perfectly with no rubbing. Bass response has improved. Highly recommend to anyone. Definitely worth the $70.

Changes the sound for worse, stay with the genuine pads at least for HD650
I've been using HD650 for over 7 years, and needless to say the pads had worn out. I was quite excited since this definitely looks like a high quality product, they fit even better than the stock pads. Unfortunately they away the laid back, full sound to the point I was wondering if I was listening to a different headphone. If you've been listening to your HD650s you'll notice the difference. To get the best out of your 650, stick to the stock/genuine Sennheiser pads
