This is a great test to check if you have the APOE gene associated with an elevated risk of Alzheimers (APOE4). You recieve a half of the APOE gene from both parents and the results will list both inherited very clearly so I dont understand other reviews saying it doesnt. My father is showing signs of dementia or worse, my mom for sure has dementia, I wanted to know if I have the gene for Alzheimer or dementia, all I got was I have a moderate chance, does not tell me if I have the gene or not, don't waste $80.00, you can probably guess just as good as they do.

This test was very simple to do and results came quickly. It is always good to know if you have a higher than average chance of contracting a life altering disease or illness. I have three aunts who had Alzheimer's Disease so I was wondering if maybe I was walking around with the gene and didn't know it. Dementia also runs in the family. I was relieved to see that I do not carry the APOE gene. Everything went flawlessly and quickly and I have peace of mind that at least I don't have a heightened chance to develop Alzheimer's, dementia, or heart disease from genetics. I could still get any of these but, had the test come back positive, I could have spoken with my doctors and taken early action to hopefully keep these things at bay longer or even prevent them from happening at all. Well worth the price for the knowledge.
