Helped SO Much
I bought this on the recommendation of my doctor and so glad I did. Although it says it's a sleeping boot, she suggested I don't sleep with it, I just use it as I'm resting, and not for too long periods. I used it for anywhere from 1/2 hour to a couple hours at a time until I would start to feel the stretch and get a little uncomfortable. Then I would take it off, but it made such a difference. My foot is almost healed. It is not made for walking, although a few careful steps can be taken because it's sturdy. It's a easy to get on with the clips, and it stretches the foot well. I got a medium, but had to adjust it to the smallest size, and still could have probably used the smaller one. I ordered the one that was my foot size, but it would have been better if they made the range of sizes 8-10.5 not so large because I would have liked it smaller.

Gentle stretch, minimal pain
I normally don't write product reviews unless something is REALLY good or REALLY bad. These braces are a GODSEND. I have been waking up in pain from the first step for years now, thinking that was just something I had to live with. These braces are a game changer. I understand why people find them uncomfortable - it is a hard shell around your leg, and as I fall asleep, I can feel my calves (I bought two braces) being gently stretched out. The sensation takes some getting used to, but it is 1000000% worth it to minimize my morning pains. I rarely have to use my slant board in the mornings anymore - my Achilles tendons are already stretched out!

It works!!
At last! I tried the fabric braces described as for Achilles tendinitis. None of them worked well for me. This one works exactly as it should! It is well made, sturdy, has little pillows to pad the straps that hold it in place. It holds my foot in place. I can hobble around in it if necessary. After using it for about half an hour for 4 or 5 days my tendonitis is much improved. After reading the other comments I purchased the small for my 8.5 size foot. It works fine but the medium, as recommended, would have been better.

Its works...... but the buckle sucks
Having Painful plantar fasciitis is unbearable at times. The boot fits well it does it's job and it different hurt as much for me anymore. You can adjust to loosen and tighten the strap. However, the location of the buckle is very annoying. It's very awkward to buckle on the right leg. If you're not flexible... You're gonna need someone to help you buckle. The design of the buckle should be on the inside of the right boot. Just like the left boot where the buckle is on the inside. If the company wants to keep it simple by designing one boot for both legs they should at least design it where buckle can be used both sides. Because of the design of the buckle that's why I'm giving it three stars.

Best product for plantar fasciitis
Two years ago, I bought two of these braces in an effort to deal with my terrible plantar fasciitis pain. I had tried all sorts of other products, and now in retrospect I can say that these things were one of the only really helpful purchases (along with some Birkenstocks, and some Hoka One One shoes with inexpensive arch-support insoles). I wear the braces to bed each night, and as other reviews suggested, I criss-cross the bottom two straps so that my heel stays put more securely. The braces gently stretch my heels and prevent that shortening of the tendon that causes so much early morning heel pain! I know that they are continuing to help me a lot, because if I ever go a night without wearing them, the heel pain is back in the morning! You would think that it would be hard to sleep in these, especially for someone like me who deals with insomnia, but you really do get used to it. Initially if I woke up in the night and felt uncomfortable I would take them off, but in only a few days I could sleep in them all night. If I do end up taking them off in the night, I put them back on in the morning BEFORE my feet touch the floor, and let my heels stretch for about 10 minutes before I get up, and that is helpful. Don’t plan on doing any walking around in these—they’re not designed for that. I can manage to shuffle to the bathroom and back if I need to while wearing them, but that’s about it. I think for the price these things are excellent, and they hold up well. I’ve been using mine every single night for almost two years, and they’re still sturdy and comfortable, and keeping my feet happy!

Works well, no more heel pain.
This works very well for my husband's plantar fasciitis. After a few weeks of wearing the boot, he stopped experiencing heel pain. He wears a size 10 shoe in men's, and the medium boot was the right fit for him. We've recommended this product to several other people.

It will feel uncomfortable, but try this!
Hang in there! I was ready to return this in about 5 minutes, but found some great advice online. Before first use, practice putting it on, and adjust the straps when you are not half asleep. It feels awkward, bulky, uncomfortable. It fees like it is hurting more than helping at first, at least it did for me. Do not put on at 9pm when you are ready for bed, you will tear it off and not be able to fall asleep, and get frustrated. If you can wear for a few hours before wake up time, that is better than nothing. As I am 50+ I get up several times in the night to use the bathroom. The first night I put it on at 3am, and got up at 6am. I was so tired, I didn't know I had it on, and fell right back to sleep. The second night, I put it on at 12 am, and got up at 6am. You can't put this on NIGHT ONE and expect to be comfortable and sleep like a baby for 8 hours. It feels like a torture device, however, after several nights my excruciating morning foot pain has gone away!! Several hours towards wake up time is better than nothing. Wear a sock, and put a pillow under your leg. You won't be sorry.

Who designed this thing????
I bought this night splint hoping that it would be a lighter and less bulky alternative to the walking boot that I have been using following foot surgery. While it is definitely lighter and less bulky, it is a total fail in all other regards. The design misses the most basic aspects of biomechanics, and it clearly did not go through any beta-testing with real users. The straps are designed to fit specific foot/leg profile only and cannot be either lengthened or shortened by more than an inch due to the placement of the velcro on the boot and the impossibility of getting the other end of the velcro through the belt buckle. This, in my case, leaves the straps loose and my foot and leg able to move, defeating the purpose of the splint. My heel continually rises from the bottom of the splint, causing the plantar flexion that the splint should prevent. The straps also place pressure on exactly the wrong place on the top of my midfoot, causing pain over the surgery site where bone fusion is ongoing. Finally, as other reviewers have mentioned, the placement of the strap buckles on the outside of the foot/ankle (when used on the R foot) requires that the user be a contortionist to get them buckled and unbuckled. A pre-market trial of this product with actual users would have identified this as a major problem and should have led to the realization that a simple pull-through adjustable velcro strap (like the one on walking boots) would have been a better design for a boot intended for use on either foot. I am returning the product and will continue wearing my walking boot at night.

This is a legit night splint - not a sock
Very sturdy, effective night splint - in my case for Plantar Fasciitis and associated ankle strain. It is much more substantial than the other splints I have used (various toe to shin straps and bendable front of shin/ankle aluminum brace). It is a bit of work to get it adjusted, but once there it has three easy clips to take it on and off so easy thereafter. It is not a sock like many of these splints, but rather a hard plastic back of foot/ankle/shin support so it might be tough on sheets (I saw no issue, but was wary of this point). The included velcro wedge is really handy as it does push up the front of the foot about another 3/4 inch, keeping tension on the under-foot tendons, as it should. After just a few days I noticed significant improvement in my foot and was able to put it aside (until the next time). The only note for buyers I would suggest is that unlike so many things on Amazon, this item actually fits LARGER than you will expect. I have a size 11 foot, but found the largest size too large (I couldn't fully tighten the straps), so returned it and got the next size down - that works really well.
