One week in, so far so good!
This pump has replaced a 7-year-old Hayward that seized up and tripped breakers. Like so many on here I was done with Hayward and sought this as an alternative. I chose this brand because of the reviews that mentioned excellent after-sales support. So far I haven't needed it. I had to redo the plumbing due to small dimensional differences between this one and the Hayward. This is more powerful than the Hayward, I can turn on my waterfall feature without dropping the pressure so much that I lose heat. The low speed setting will not raise the pressure enough to engage the heater. That is okay, my plan was to use it to keep the pool clean in the off season and save a bunch of energy doing it. The high setting makes a normal level of pump noise, the low setting is very quiet. I bought a dryer cord and outlet instead of hard-wiring it because of the awkward location of the pump motor. If I have a problem I will come back here and update this review. Note that it is possible to put the strainer basket into the pump housing backwards, so just pay attention where the hole in the basket is relative to the inlet pipe.

Lasted less than a year
I don't know what I expected for $250 but it didn't even last a year. Before it broke it worked adequately but it was louder than my last pump. The fact that they don't even warranty it or offer an exchange should tell you all you need to know. Just spend the money and get a decent pump.

Customer Service has been excellant!!
This is the second Pipopa Pool Pump I have purchased. The first was over a year ago and it quit shortly after it was installed. Pipopa immediately sent a replacement and asked that I return the original for engineering to examine to find the failure point. The replacement is a 2 1/2 HP dual speed pump that I am very pleased with and still running like a champ. It is quiet and just the right power to keep my large salt water pool clean and fresh. I purchased the second pump, a 2 HP dual voltage pump, for my father's house and have had two fittings break at the top pump housing between the threads. Again I contacted Pipopa Customer Service through Amazon and they were quick to respond sending 2 replacement fittings and assurance that their engineers would look at the breaks to see if the fitting design could be improved. These pumps are not terribly expensive and are a great value for the money. The fact that their customer service is so responsive is very refreshing and certainly an added value for the money. I would recommend these items to friends and family alike. Thank you Pipopa for your willingness to exceed my expectations.

Great value but wiring diagram sucks and no connectors. Runs quiet after you get it installed.
My repair guy said 3-6k to get a new pump installed depending on which model I wanted. Hell no, so I got this one. The wiring diagram is crap and it doesn't have a connector for the middle prong on the cap that the second hot goes to. My old pump had the white wire in it but after a lot of research I found it was not needed so I removed it. I ended up with the ground being obvious and the red and black going to the two power points on the diagram. They did not put a nut for the one on the pump to attach or a clamp for the one on the switch in the lid. So far it is whisper quiet on low and still pretty quiet on high. The flow is excellent, but I still have to wait a while to say how it will be in time. For the whole setup costing me about 300 with pipes and glue I am happy with it as long as it lasts a few years.

Better than expected
This is our second season with the 2HP pump. With the right tools, I changed it out in a few hours. Granted it did not line up completely as the old pump. I do recommend placing the pump on a rubber mat if you are concerned about vibration and purchase the pump protector hood. Hopefully, I will get another (10) years from it. No leaks, no vibration, no complaints!!!

Very powerful
My inground pool pump went bad and replaced it with this one. So far it’s working great. The flow and the power of pressure the jets are throwing back into the pool is a lot better than my last pump. Very quiet. And for me easy to wire up and re connect the PVC pipes. Working great no leaks. Great price for this unit also. Back to enjoying the pool for the summer. Thanks amazon

Bad pumps
These pumps are terrible! They only last about a month then they start leaking internally.

So far, so good
Pool companies can no longer sell single speed pumps. The variable speed start at about eight hundred plus installation. My pool guy quoted me thirteen hundred dollars for the pump and install. His price was not out of line considering the initial cost of the pump, labor and the incidentals he would have to supply. I bought this pump for less than three hundred dollars and did the installation myself with the invaluable help of my son in law. Took a while but we managed to get everything working just fine. So far, this pump has run like a champ and I saved about nine hundred dollars.
