Not for the beginner
Nicely detailed kit in the box. It is in fact by Academy based on their G-2 kit so you get the unneeded 20mm cannon pods. Special Hobby provide parts to convert the G to a D-5. These are well detailed but don't fit as well as they could. Cutting out the rudder and bomb bay insert is required so this is not a kit for the novice. There are also photo etch parts which are effective but challenging to use.My kit example suffered from warped wings which were not apparent until I fitted them to the fuselage. This means the wing dihedral is too flat.Overall the kit was disappointing but part of that is down to me. Check fit of parts carefully by dry fitting and most of the issues should be resolved.
