**Q: Is this an induction hot plate?**
A: No this is not an induction hot plate . You can use any cookware including glass ware .

**Q: When set to simmer does it still boil or does it actually simmer?**
A: We use the simmer setting for keep food warm, never seen it boil.

**Q: Is this safe to use on a top of wood table?**
A: Probably is safe on a wood table. I use mine on two pieces of tile I have.

**Q: Can I use this for canning?**
A: Not sure it is really designed for the weight canning would place on it. I would not use it for that purpose
