Perfect for blind pets!
The media could not be loaded. I normally wait a few days to write a review but this came in the mail today and it is perfect! My doggo went blind last year and lost interest in playing with toys. I didn't want her to get depressed and this type of toy was suggested on a fb group. Super happy with this. Can't speak on the durability but as you can see I don't think she'll be tearing it apart any time soon.

Great for Senior dog mental stimulation!
We are fostering an 11 year old hound/retriever mix from the humane society. We take her on slow walks around the neighborhood for some physical exercise but we didn’t know how to mentally stimulate her. She has shown ZERO interest in any of the toys we’ve tried to give to her to play. I ordered the snuffle mat and put her regular dry food all over. Mostly easy because it was her first time. She found all but one tiny piece. I know mental stimulation is just as important as physical stimulation, especially for senior dogs. This mat seems like it will fit the bill to help keep her brain working! She did grab and pull a few of the pieces trying to get to the kibble underneath and I was worried it was going to rip. Nope. She pulled hard (as hard as an 11 year old dog can...) and the pieces stayed on the mat. It seems to be very well constructed. I’ll try to remember to update after we’ve used it a few more times.Love the nonslip backing, it stayed in place while she dug and pushed with her nose.I’m so glad we purchased this!

Keeps your pup busy as long as it’s filled with treats and they aren’t full!
The media could not be loaded. This thing is phenomenal!!!! My maltipoo is very energetic, loves anything that’s high sensory and engages his natural instinct. With fetch being his favorite game, I needed something that would hone in on a skill that wouldn’t require my full on attention. This thing definitely does the trick. He absolutely adores this thing and jumps for joy the moment that he sees me pull it out. I fill it with treats, and or food and it keeps him busy as long as he “thinks” that he can smell a treat. When the treats are completely gone he’ll go back every now and then sniffing around to see if there are additional treats left. The more you add the longer they’ll hunt. It’s an inexpensive alternative to some of the other brands out there. I highly recommend.

Works for separation anxiety, and when they are not eating when they should
Recent adoption was having severe separation anxiety, and while this was not a one stop cure all, it absolutely helped. ‘Vaca’ must have earned a black belt in chewing everything in reach prior to us adopting him. Getting him more exercise, good chew toys, and treats, plus this magnificent mat all helped transition him down to about a white belt. This mat is legit. He has destroyed things we thought were indestructible. But the mat remains. It takes about 3 minutes to prepare 1 cup of traditional dry dog food. An easy investment of your time. Just hide each bit in as many different places as you can, and let him find them.*Pro tips:1. If your dog isn’t interested right away try a few things. First one is free. Get down on your hands and knees and pretend to sniff out and eat the food. Second one is to break up some of their favorite treats and hide them with the food. They can smell the difference.2. If you plan on using this just prior to leaving for the day, don’t use it that way the first time. Use it as a normal feeding ritual while you are still there. This way they will not associate the mat with you leaving.3. It washes in the clothes washer just fine. I dried on low heat just in case the material was heat sensitive.Good luck, and trust this review helps in your decision.

Snuffle On
My dog is a snuffler. Take her to the park, and her nose doesn't leave the ground. She loves to eat bugs and whatever else she can find (much to my chagrin). That's how I knew she'd like a snuffle mat. My dog is also barrel chested, so I needed something to slow her eating down and reduce the risk of bloat. This mat is a good size for a small or medium dog (mine is 35 lbs). The materials are all stitched together well and feel sturdy. I've used this mat every day for almost three months now, and it shows no signs of wear. It can temporarily discolor from the dog's dry food, but I wash it in my washing machine, and it comes out looking great. Most days, I will just use the snuffle side, but I like having the other little puzzle sections as well. Will this work for your dog? Things to consider:- My dog loves chewing things like felt, so I thought this would be an issue, but she has not tried to chew the "grass". I do pick the mat up when it's not in use, but I'll leave it down for a few minutes when she's done eating and haven't had any issues.- Depending on your dog's face shape and size, some of the little puzzles can be really difficult for the dog. For instance, two of the little "cups" are so small that my dog gets very frustrated because her snout and paws are too big to fit through the cup hole.- Willingness to play along. As I said above, I knew my dog was a snuffler, but some dogs may not take to this. I've heard of dogs picking up their mats or shaking their mats and letting all of the food fall to the floor. My dog does not do this, but, if she's frustrated with a puzzle, she will dig at the mat or pull at the one section with her teeth. A more aggressive dog may rip the felt or toss the mat when faced with similar frustration.Overall, I'm very satisfied with this product.

Best $30 I've spent on dogs so far!
I wish I'd found this mat when my mastiff girl was little! We currently have a 4-month-old Mini German Aussie Shepherd who is ridiculously smart and has figured out all the homemade dog puzzles. (Tennis balls in the muffin tins? She just gently lifts them out one by one. On the first try.)This mat is stellar though! I loaded it up with bits of plain animal crackers and she's been busy hunting in it for almost 20 minutes! It's super soft, like a baby blanket, so won't rub their noses. I'll definitely be able to throw it in the washing machine, and it has built-in ties to roll it up yoga mat style for storage! If you have a high energy, smart dog, this is a must have!!!

Great mat! Well worth it
Loved this snuffle mat, not as large as I thought and the rubber coating only does so much sticking but my 15year old lab is like a pup when we bring this out. It completely reactivates that foraging instinct and she usually takes it outside afterwards and sniffs everything out there too. Comes back to it all day, even snoozes on it. Well worth it, has relieved a little of her anxiety. One of her favorite things! If you're on the fence, get one, even if it's not this one. They are brilliant!

Truly washing machine washable
My dog loves it. I order the large one for my medium (14kg) dog. Looks like the right size. I washed it in washing machine and it was all fine afterwards.

Do Not Purchase
Dog chewed through it in 2 minutes. Can’t even return the item because the shipping took so long that it was delivered AFTER the return date.
