Works on tight copper to aluminum Joints
aluminum being female. Joint has to be clean and tight. Can't have too much space. Doesn't work well as a filler. I had a hole in my 5 ton Trane evaporator tube right near side plate on the finned side. Striped fina back put evap in slight negative pressure hoping to pull in material but it just beaded and rolled off. It did take care of leaks on distributor tube to copper connections and I used JB Marine water weld to patch the pin hole in the evap tube and has been working now in the vigorous central Florida summer with R410A. My condenser Fan died so this unit has tripped on head pressure and all the joints have survived through many HP cutouts of 600psi. Joints held no problem. So just know as long as you have a clean tight joint this stuff works. Heats fast . Don't overheat! You do tend to go through rods rather quickly as they are flux cored! Is almost a 4 start product.
