Honest Review : Press Quality Made and Durable .
Honest Review : Press Quality made and durable .The quality of the press surprised me for the price. The stamped steel base was very rigid and did not make press feel like it would topple over during operation. Very sturdy. Almost zero play in the press shaft to keep everything on center. Great for part line ups. Smooth spring return operation. Easily adjustable height and press stop. Press is heavy and well made, not light weight junk. This press came with all accessories, hole & leather punches as well as 1/4" 6"x5" plastic base for punching out materials. This is used not to damage aluminum base plate or punches. Did not use accessories but looked OK quality.

Good design but not good
Went to use it the first time and it wouldn't send the tool I was using through the leather. Alls it was doing was lifting the holder up. Thought the screws weren't tight enough so I tightened them a little more and it broke. Now I have to figure out how to fix it or send it back.

Straight trash
This thing is trash. If you are a Cub Scout den leader then maybe, but if you are making bad ass stuff that has to be perfect. This gizmo ain’t gonna cut it

Easy to use
I have never used leather hole punch tools so I wanted something simple to use. This product fit that requirement. Initially, I got it to re-use some leather belts so they could secure S-hooks to a rail rather than fly off every time I tried to pull something off the hook. I saw this trick on a video and it works great. This tool made it easy to put holes into the leather and then wrap onto the rail and secure the hook. I've used for other projects re-using leather belts like drawer knobs. With the reasonable price point, this product has been very useful.

Good Leather Punches At A Reasonable Price In A Useful Range Of Sizes
For leatherwork, I usually use Tandy tools. These are significantly cheaper but seem to accomplish the same thing at the lower volumes I use these for. I do leather work as a hobby and not for production, so the slight difference in quality between these and Tandy punches will not make much difference. These solid punches are far better than changeable tip punches, regardless of whom they are made by. If I had to choose between these and replaceable tip punches, I would choose these every time. The holes punched are clean with good straight edges. I tested these on leather up to 3/8 inch thick. They worked well regardless of the thickness of the leather I tried them on. The cutout circles of leather move readily up the hollow channel and exit out the side port with no blockages or problems. If you are bothered by the few circles of leather that inevitably remain in the channel when finishing a project, these are readily pushed out with a small wire or probe.I have not needed to sharpen mine yet, but I sharpened one anyway to see how hard it would be. These are easy to sharpen with any standard knife sharpening stone or motorized grinders, including a Dremel. These stay sharp better and cut cleaner with less hassle than the interchangeable tipped ones. I have not used these on any material besides leather, so I cannot comment on their suitableness for other materials. If I wanted to test a set on different materials, I would buy a second set for this purpose and leave one set for leather use only.Overall a good set of leather hole punches at a reasonable price in a useful range of sizes. The product description is accurate, and I would definitely get these again.
