Men's 5" Running Athletic Shorts for Workout Gym Tennis Sports Lightweight Quick Dry with Zipper Pocket

These shorts are absolutely fantastic for the activities I primarily engage in: 1) hiking/backpacking, 2) climbing/bouldering, 3) work outs, and 4) weekends around the house. I've spent quite a bit of time trying to find shorts that don't hang about my knees like man capris, yet aren't 1970 NBA short. Despite the 5" rating on these, they aren't as short as what you might be expecting. I'm 5'10 and they hit just above my knees. They're made of a synthetic fabric that isn't at all uncomfortable, is lightweight, and dries fast. I like the liner because I can go commando, swimming, etc. The liner is a non-issue when I wear boxer briefs. It's nice on a backpacking trip or hike to be able to jump into a creek or lake for a dip and have them dry quickly. They have a drawstring in the elastic waistband which I don't usually need to tie, but if I go swimming I do. The three pockets are fantastic. The front pockets are great because they are deep enough for a phone, wallet, keys, etc. On a lot of shorts in this price range you get pockets that aren't deep enough to hold a pea, much less something valuable. The zippered pocket on the back is really nice when you want to be extra sure to secure something and is also big enough for a phone or slim wallet. If these shorts have a weakness at this price point, I'm not sure what it is. I've experienced no issues with fit, quality, or durability. They're comfortable. I now own three pairs and wish I had more.

Hi everybody. I am a 70 year old female (I'm not Steve. I'm married to Steve.) I play tennis three times a week, I’m big boned, not huge but 20 pounds overweight. I cannot fit into the cutsey women’s XL size they sell at Dicks. Academy, etc. I have given up trying to ever shop in there. Shame on them for never carrying any women’s 2X. I play most tennis with married men so would never wear the teensy skirt that flashes your AQQ every time you bend over to pick up a ball. (Girls, don’t be naïve. It’s not okay.) Thus I am forced to hunt for Men’s XL shorts, ones that don’t look too masculine. I’m very picky and it’s really hard to find what I need. Enter Baleaf. I just bought two pairs. Do they have the light dreamy fabric that wicks away moisture? Check! The perfect length? (for me, 5”) Check! Deep pockets to hold my tennis balls? Check! Nice, comfy elastic waistband? Check! Adjustable strings at waist? Check! And Ooh, look how strong they are! How about a nice subtle logo design for men who want to scream their game, not scream their brand? Check! How about great colors that girls would like too, not just grey and navy. Check! Built in brief? You bet! Check! But cool -- they used clever, stylish brief colors to compliment and contrast the outside, not just boring noncolors. How about the price? Check! $18 instead of $45+. for the same or better quality than the big boys. Finally, they fit great. They wash great. But wait! There’s more! It's really difficult to find a running short with a 5" inseam, no mesh liner, and a rear back pocket for some reason. In fact the first pair of these shorts I bought had a liner I had intended to cut out before I realized they had a linerless option. The ones with a liner use the same fabric as the liner for the rear pocket which is stretchy meaning it holds your phone tight and conforms to the size of the phone. The linerless version uses the same sized pocket but with the material the shorts are made out of which don't stretch. I am just barely able to jam my phone in horizontally if put my phone in before I put the shorts on. There is no way I will be able to pull my phone out on a run and replace it while still running. Hard to tell from the pictures, but the black pocket is the stretch material where the phone truly sits horizontally. The grey pocket is theses linerless shorts where I can kind of get my phone jammed in there. I wish the linerless version used the same material for the rear pocket as the liner ones. For perspective my phone is 6"x3". Otherwise these are the perfect length, length, fit, and fabric. Very happy with these shorts and Baleaf overall. I also use their jogger pants for working out and running in colder weather.

I like these so much I just bought two more pair. They are high quality with excellent stitching. The mesh liner is appreciated for the hot days when outside for fast-paced walks. The pockets are a huge bonus for keeping a mobile phone or house key in. They wash & dry very nicely with no degrading from the dryer.

I am blown away with their quality of the product, I courage you to buy this brand once, much better than nike, Adidas and Lululemon brands. I am professional runner and I just happened to buy one of their running shorts 3 years ago on amazon incidentally. I am still wearing those shorts on everyday running. threads quality and elastic is very very good and its feather light product. some other product on amazon around 20-30 dollars as well but don't be fooled by their quality and how heavy they are and once you sweat while running, heavier shorts gets even heavier and drop and t-shirts don't dry off as fast as this brand. I am not getting paid by any of them to write this kind of reviews. I am online shopper and I never leave any reviews to anyone, unless something really hits me heard. sizes are true to your size and washing and line dry is only necessary....Hats off to their designer ;-)

These running shorts are adequate for the price but have a number of problems that make them worse than other brands like Pudolla. They are not 5 inch shorts, they are 7. The way they are cut makes them much longer than any real pair of five inch shorts. I have to fold the waist band down to make them shorter. And also the liner is terrible and paired with the way they're cut causes the material of the shorts to bunch up between your legs as you run. I recommend Pudolla and have never had a problem with their sizing or liners.

These shorts are very comfortable and appear to be well made. An example of their attention to providing a top notch product is the drawstring. In some shorts, the manufacturer uses a thin material that I find difficult to tie. The Baleaf short has a very good elastic waistband and a substantial drawstring. The material of the short is lightweight and there is an interior brief that is a mesh material. The only thing that could be considered a negative in my opinion may be durability. The lightness of the material may be it's downfall, but only time will tell. All the seams look very well sewn. When you throw in the price when compared to Nike, New Balance, and other name brands, Baleaf is a bargain. I am certainly buying again. UPDATE: I wore these shorts when I ran my first half marathon. It was a course along the coast, it was warm and the humidity was elevated. I was also wearing a Baleaf shirt. I was sweating. At the end of the race the shorts and shirt were soaking wet. They did not feel clammy like cotton, but still very wet. Once I got back to my hotel I hung the items up so they would dry and not be a wet mess in my luggage. The next day when I went to pack, they were stll damp. They are NOT quick dry. Comfortable, but not quick drying.

Fit well, probably a bit longer than my other 5 inch shorts but fine. Good quality and worth the price paid.

Finally some shorts with just the right length (the 5 inches version). When standing up, it ends 10cm above my knee. Perfect for sports and casual wear. The fabric is very thin but not fragile. It is lightweight, soft (almost silky) and feels great. At first the elastic felt too tight around the waist, but after a couple hours it was fine and has remained the same since. Great shorts for the price. I love them!
