I splurged on this and spent $30. I was hoping it would be a fun activity. It’s okay. I don’t think it was $30 experience worthy. It is pretty neat how it makes the weave. I can confirm that if you use a thin yarn (like sock yarn), you can wind the bobbins and you don’t have to use only what comes with the kit or purchase more. It comes with a pattern guide. I didn’t find the pattern guide to be overly reliable. That could be user error. But I tried to make the striped bracelet and I couldn’t make out any stripes in it. This may be difficult for younger children to figure out, to begin with, but with a little bit of help they’d probably do okay… depending on the child. Most children probably have more dexterity in their hands than I do and I was able to do it. It’s mostly understanding where the thread needs to travel so it doesn’t bind the machine up. That said we’ve already made a handful of bracelets and have had no issues with the machine binding or locking up. I do feel that an overaggressive winder could potentially snap one of the pieces if forcing the crank (rendering the whole thing broken). But as long as you don’t force it, it’s fun. If you can get this for under 20 bucks, I think it would be a good bye.

Honestly love this thing. I've tried a couple different bracelet makers like the loopdedo. But this one is not even close to comparison. After 1 video its so easy to usem ive made 10 bracelets already and have reloaded spools with my own stuff embroidery floss. I have already ordered 2 more mechines to use and line 3 up and run bracelets. This is great for someone trying to do passive income though friendship bracelets. I was waiting a couple weeks before writing a review to see if it would actually works. I would recommend this item. It had no missing parts. My recommendations for this is reload with your own stuff as its cheaper. I ordered 4 boxes of their stuff to use and reload the spools.

I wanted to give this machine a few tries before I gave it a review. To be fair, the first few times, three to be exact, that I tried it, I was not impressed. I can say fully, and unapologetically, that I was the problem and not the machine. The first few times I used it the results looked like some drunken, knotted mess. No I was not drinking. I started looking at the pattern and realized there was no white. Then I realized there was no white because I didn't put the white spool in. 🙄 I tried it with the white spool and it braided a lot better but the tension was too tight and locked up the spools. I didn't force it, so it wouldn't break, and I re-spooled the spools. Tension is important, following the instructions is very important. You can use other cord materials like embroidery floss to re-use the spools. The refill kits are too expensive in my opinion but the spool design is awesome. Make sure if you re-spool that you do so counter clockwise because your chord has to come off the spool clockwise. Also when you load your spools you will notice the front is the side with the solid part. This is important so you don't load the wrong side and have it pop out. I've done kumi braiding before with the friendship braiding disks and it takes me forever. This is a quick fun way to do the same thing. So far I love it. Especially now that I figured out what I was doing wrong. Lol

If you supervise the making of first bracelet then an 8yo can load the maker and finish the bracelet all by themselves. We had no jamming or breakage issues. You do run out of cord quickly, we had to use embroidery floss and pearl cotton since the kit does not come with much. Even when doubled the embroidery floss is thinner and not as nice. We are definitely ordering more refills. Very easy to use and fun.

I got this for my 7 year old and it does not stay in place on the table while you are trying to to turn the handle. I also do not like that it you have to keep stopping to pull the bracket up cause if you don’t it gets all tangled up and your bracket is ruined and you have to take it all apart.

It looks like a lot of creative fun ,I believe it will be well received as a Christmas gift.

Bought for my 7 year old. I have to help her set it up, but with guidance she can do it. The refills are expensive so I use embroidery thread to refill them.

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my 8 year old. She loves it, we've used it a few times, she's made 3 bracelets so far, the first one we made together, the rest she's mostly done on her own. She's able to follow the guide to set it up and make the bracelet on her own but does need a little help to do the finishing bits (wrapping the little tape strips and feeling them into the clasps) as it can be fiddly but it's a good little product and we're happy with it. We will have to buy more reels and threads soon as it doesn't come with loads but for £10 you can buy a good little set of spare reels and thread so thats out plan
