I'm glad I went out on a limb and purchased Sage Spoonfuls as it has exceeded my expectations. I have yet to say "I wish this book included..." so I'll share with you all the things I love:> The book is sectioned off by what foods are appropriate for each stage/age.> At each stage, it includes information on what the recommended texture is and how much to feed (amount and frequency). As a new mom, I found this to be an extremely helpful starting point.> For each food item, Liza includes a snapshot of what it contains in the way of vitamins and such, how much a food yields (e.g. 1 large butternut squash = 25 ounces of puree), how to prepare, how to serve, "shelf life" in the fridge/freezer/on-the-go, a description of the food's benefits, what pairings are good when mixed with fruit, veggies, and meat, and what spices to consider adding. This is what I mean by thorough!> It's spiral bound which allows it to lay flat so you're not fighting to keep the book open while elbow deep in puree.> I haven't come across a food item that is not included in the book.> It includes some recipes for the whole family. Far surpasses the other books I have. Goes by age and food and tells you how to make the food and also what food flavors go together. Seriously this is the only book you'll need! When your child is a toddler I would suggest Jessica Seinfeld's book Deceptively Delicious.
