Saved father in law from falling numerous times.
This alarm has helped us tremendously. If we didn’t have that my father in law would have fallen so many times. I have it set to one side since his bed is against the wall we only have to worry about him getting out on one side. OMG! He has dementia & keeps trying to get up. The problem is he is 94 years old with dementia, but more agile than I am until he actually stands on his legs. His legs are weak & give out when he stands on them. The thing is he can hold them up together in the air as long as he wants while you get him dressed. I can’t do leg lifts like that. So getting up isn’t his problem, but once he’s up those same legs can’t hold him up. The alarm goes off, we immediately look at the camera & there he is getting up. It gives us enough time to dash downstairs to stop him. I don’t know what we’d do without it. I bought it in anticipation of him moving in with us because he was getting out of bed both in the hospital & at rehab. Great product, easy to install, works just as advertised. It has more than one setting. I have it so he can turn & reposition himself without setting off the alarm, but the moment he sits up & tries to get out of bed it goes off. Oh & its loud, you don’t have to worry that you will sleep through it. Not only is it loud it vibrates on my nightstand. Update: We love this device so much we bought the matching chair alarm. You pair it to the same alarm box. We have noted that occasionally (twice since mid February) it will become unpaired. It’s easy to pair it back to the device in 5-10 seconds. You just have to be careful because if you don’t notice & it becomes unpaired it’s useless, it won’t alarm & alert you. I’m convinced my father in law would have fallen & hurt himself by now if it weren’t for the alarm. We have a baby monitor with a couple of cameras watching him so if the alarm goes off we can see what he’s doing & actually talk to him to see why is he trying to get up. This has allowed us to safely sleep at night.

One of my best Amazon purchases ever!
I will end with likes/dislikes but overall, I desperately needed this particular bed alarm. Given that, I hope my dislikes are considered for new production modifications This bed alarm allows me to get a lot more sleep! Before this, I had set hourly alarms to check a camera to see if my dad was in bed or wandering. I sometimes slept through them or he got up right after I checked. I have since deleted those alarms. I did NOT want an alarm that sounded at the bed that would scare my dad. I needed a portable alarm to travel with me. I also needed something with sound that would break through my phone's nighttime sleep mode (for those with app alarms), and an alarm I could hear through my noise blocking headphones (that help me sleep through snoring.) I didn't want one that my husband would hear and wake up. I couldn't have a device the detects the person stepping on the floor because I couldn't have the cat setting it off. Likes: I love that it has the "pager" that sounds away from the bed. I like that there is an option of sound only, sound w/vibrate, and vibrate only. I like the clip. I have it on vibrate only and clip the device to my jammie's waist band. It works great and I get to my dad before he leaves his bedroom. I was needlessly worried about the clips because the pad/clips stay in place really well. I do not get false alarms. Dislikes: I hate the tiny, relatively flat on/off switch. It is rather hard to operate especially when I just woke up from a deep sleep. I apparently missed that it is suggested to be replaced after 15 months of use. (However, ≈$8 a month is actually worth it.) I wish the alarm tone had volume controls vs. high/low option (both of which are loud.) I wish I could set it without have to cycle through the three options EVERY single time. I'd like to avoid the loud alarm tone for me and for my sleeping husband's sake. (I turn it off and then the pager has the be reset after every "back to bed" incident. I wish the light was just a single light to show it is set. The continuous STROBE light is super annoying and not conducive for sleeping. Having it on my waist band, under the covers fixed that. The added benefit is that I don't loose the device and easily feel the alarm. The clip is rather hard to use because it does not open much and I am afraid I could break it. The pad crinkling sound is annoyingly loud when he gets in bed. Fortunately, he sleeps without much movement. (Note that I fully understand the need to keep it waterproof!)

Lifesaver
I wish I had bought this months ago. It’s a lifesaver. You simply put the mat under the sheets. You then have a hand help device that sets off an alarm whenever anyone tries to get up from the bed. You set the volume. A touch of a button turns it off. It’s so easy and works great. It’s better than my ring alarm and senior cam.

great idea, poor quality
This worked great in the beginning but malfunctioned after only 4 months. Not sure it was worth the price for that amount of time. It definitely helped me get mote sleep while it worked!

Great alert tool for dementia patients
Does exactly what it’s supposed to. We get alarm alerts and are able to respond to keep things under control. Can’t say I like the sound, but I understand it’s designed to get your attention! Definitely recommend! Finally, while you have to contact customer support via email, they do provide excellent support when needed (thx Agna)!

Necessary for Peace of Mind
This device allows me to relax at night now that my elderly mother lives with us. It alerts me when she gets up in the middle of the night and also allows me to go outside and work in the flower beds at her naptimes. The range has been adequate for me to be as far as my neighbor's porch. I've not tested it beyond that . Installation is relatively easy (if you follow the directions in order.) This order was for a replacement for a pad we purchased in early 2014. It lasted about 18 months. The warranty pretty much warns you about this. I would be interested in learning if anyone's lasts longer.

This alarm system is wonderful and is perfect for what we need. Our previous system was very unreliable and lasted less than 2 months but because of that experience, I can compare that system with the one we have now, which is so much better. We love the remote control as I can carry it anywhere in the house and hear the alarm once triggered, plus my mother doesn't hear it because the alarm does not go off in her room. Also, no more false alarms. The previous system was so sensitive, it would go off with the slightest movement...then other other times not go off at all...very unreliable. So far, with the Lunderg system, it goes off as soon as she's off the pad and sitting up...which is perfect for our needs. We place the pad by her lower back so it gives us time to get to her room before she attempts to stand up. One person commented earlier (which was helpful), that we can't replace the battery for the pad, but you can replace the battery for the remote. I don't mind this because the pad is supposed to be used for a certain period of time before it needs to be replaced anyway. So far so good, and I sleep much better at night because I feel confident with this new purchase. (I do use a baby monitor as well for extra security).
