Since it was founded in 1922, the company has been run by the family, now in its third successful generation of master knife cutlers. With a team of over 20 members of staff and more than 800 different design models of knives, Arbalete Genes David represents the benchmark for creative design and won the much sought-after Industry award "Janus de l'Industrie" twice for its design, in 2009 and again 2010. In the 1940's, Arbalete Genes David was the first who reinvigorated the famous pocket knife of Laguiole, and in so doing maintained an almost forgotten tradition. Arbalete G. David is a leading company in the market of artisans for French handmade Laguiole knives. Whilst remaining deeply attached to the local origin of the product, Gene  David  demonstrates his character.  His entire product range is produced in the region of Thiers, in the Auvergne, which guarantees 100% French production. His craftsmen  go on to sculpture, assemble, fabricate, create and polish, in the same way that their internal bond with the tradition of Laguiole demands, so that its existence will continue for evermore.

Olive wood: As a European hard wood with a high proportion of essential oils, olive wood is mainly imported from the Spanish area of Andalusia. Its structure and grain is very distinctive. Through its high oil content, olive wood is especially hygienic and antibacterial. It is characterised by a high moisture resistance and is one of the heaviest, hardest as well as most durable woods available. KNIFE is MADE in FRANCE.
