From the image of the item, it looked like it will be firm enough for food and tablets. But it is very difficult to keep up while driving and also hard to keep things organized in it because it is not firm. It served its purpose of being a tray. ### ⭐⭐ Not great for short trips & getting in/out of car often. *by K***. on Reviewed in the United States on March 21, 2018* I like the idea of this table, and the storage, but execution is poor. The strap only unbuckles on one side, and you have to unbuckle this thing EVERY time the child has to exit the vehicle. For long trips, this might be better, but for 30+ minute errand runs, with multiple stops - I don't recommend this. We have two children, and the unbuckling on the one side worked for one, but not the other based on which side of the car they are on (make sense?). We returned this, and opted for a system that attaches to the seat in front of the child, and has a table that hinges down easily.
