This solar flag light is FABULOUS!! It arrived so fast, in a very thick and sturdy box, undamaged. I placed the light out in the sun to charge the next morning and installed it that afternoon. The installation is a BREEZE, the only difficulty was calming my nerves to climb up to the top of my flag pole on my ladder! Once completed, I had an unbelievably bright white light surrounding my flag that night!! It is BEAUTIFUL now!! The entire flag from top to bottom is illuminated, and it really stands out in my front yard! The light is very well constructed, high quality materials, solar panels are good sized, sealed extremely well. Light itself is made of a very high quality type of plastic, sealed tight. I HIGHLY recommend this solar flag pole light!!!

This is my second purchase - the first one lasted three years. This may not seem like a long time, but with the Florida sun and storms beating on it, I felt it held up extremely well. Over time, the solar panels become hazy from the elements. The light is exceptionally bright and performance is consistent.

I had to improvise on the installation. My flag pole may be different but it is a pole that came with a 3x5 foot flag and has a round finial. I had to get a longer bolt and do away with the finial which doesn’t bother me that much because of the size of this light you could not see the finial anyway. Be sure you wait until dark to check the position of the light on and off switch. Mine came in the off position but pressing it doesn’t really let you know visibly if it is on or off. Otherwise the light is bright and unit seems to be of good quality. As I write this review our night hours are right at 12 hours. I checked this morning at 5am and although the light was still burning it wasn’t very bright. Guess it made it til dawn.

Works good. It is bright and lights up the flags well. The light will reach the ground from my 30’ flag pole. IT DOES NOT LAST 12+ hours as advertised though….yet. Maybe because I bought it now in winter and there just hasn’t been enough daylight to fully charge the batteries— not sure?!? I’ll update when the days get longer and more sun is out— of course the nights get shorter and it won’t be on as long either. 🤔

Update April 2025 - Not pleased that this happened after only a few months of use, but other buyers should be aware. The seal on the top does not stop water from entering the battery chamber, and during the Winter months, that seal failed and allowed water and melted ice to enter the battery compartment and rust the contacts. The light has failed internally, and I can no longer use it. The original review is below, and I stand by that, but it has now failed after 7 months of use. This one is working. Only for a few weeks now, but working well. I wanted to look at the battery used inside this light and was pleased to find that it uses standard 1.5v AA batteries that are rechargeable. The battery compartment is on the bottom and easily opened using a No.1 Phillips screwdriver I use EBL (Extended Battery Life)* rechargeables and have for years, so I used those in place of the batteries that were in there. Nothing was wrong with the ones that were in there, I just wanted a set I knew was at full charge when I mounted this on the flagpole. The solar panels keep them fully charged from day to day and it so far has been lit every morning until the Sun rises. The original batteries can be charged using the battery charger I have used for nearly 15 years that I bought at Harbor Freight (No Longer Available). This light shines down from about 15-20 feet and casts a light on the flag and out around its base approximately 10 ft. in diameter. It does all it needs to do to follow flag protocol on flying a flag all night and during inclement weather, which I do. I fly a 3x5 Storm Flag also available here on Amazon. Just as advertised. Only took 6 hours on day one to get a solid charge. Stayed lit through the whole first night. Easy installation on my telescoping pole. On and up in 5 minutes. Highly recommend based on first week of usage.
