You definitely need to use a sandbag ( possibly two if you’re in a windy spot) unless you’re bolting it into a solid concrete base ( which I didn’t have). I used builders sand after researching which is cheapest and all you need. Finally you need to be tall ( or use a step of some sort) to wind/ unwind the canopy). I’m just over 6 feet tall and am only just able to reach it comfortably.
