My Voice is My Superpower

Empower the Young Girls Voices and They Become Woman Who Roar
The voice of our young girls is oftentimes smothered at young ages at the hands of older voices. Such as "don't talk outside of my house" or "be quiet because if others find out" or "I know it hurts but if you tell anybody". From the cradle to the classroom and on into life, the voices of our young girls are muffled, degraded, and even silenced covering trauma and challenges that damage them. Beginning as infants it's "please be quiet" when we cannot decipher the cry of the innocent and into elementary "I don't want to hear it" on the car ride because life just punched us in the heart. Help is here! This book does not just unlock and unleash young girls (superpower) voices but it creates space and a language that opens up a relatable and necessary dialogue that they need for the condition of our culture. Settle that with the wraparound love of God for them and their well-being in a day-to-day environment - the hearts of young girls, their parents, grandparents, therapists, librarians, teachers, guardians, etc. will be transformed. Mine was! This is a generational pain breaker and a generational purpose pusher.

POWERFUL, INSPIRING, ENCOURAGING!! MUST READ!!
I personally know Mrs. Davey and Princess Laiya and they are both amazing ladies. This book sums up just how caring I know Mrs. Davey to be and how she inspires Laiya to be strong. This book was amazing and I enjoyed it all. I really loved the connection it had with the Bible and how each character told themselves something different because there are many different scenarios that kids go through growing up. Everyone needs encouragement throughout their lives and this book is a great example of that. I would give this book a 10/10 and encourage everyone with young kids, especially young daughters to read this! Thank you Mrs. Davey and Princess Laiya for this incredible book!

Encouraging and Necessary For Our Children
The authors of this book did a phenomenal job at capturing the voices of the often voiceless. Many children are afraid to speak up for themselves and share things that may be happening to them. My Voice is My Superpower surely motivates all children to express themselves with their voices and no longer hide behind the fear of “I can’t say anything about it”. Please purchase this book for any child that you know! Let’s all work together to change the narrative. Great job Laiya and Michelle!!

Fantastic
This book is very inspiring, motivating and empowering for the young. The intentionality of the authors to demonstrate to young readers how to use their voice is skillfully woven throughout the book. The subtle but profound lessons of acceptance, kindness, self-love and inclusivity sprinkled with scriptures will help to shape the lives of each reader. It is well written for the targeted audience and is beautifully illustrated. This belongs in every child’s library.

A lovely story about self belief and strength: using your voice to be heard, to be kind, to be thankful.I love how all the characters differ in ability and ethnicity.Has religious passages included so would be extra well received by someone who is religious.Lovely illustrations.
