AudioQuest Mackenzie XLR Audio Interconnect Cable (3m, Pair)

My dac has balanced outputs, but all the amps I had were single ended. I finally got an amp that has balanced inputs and wow, what a difference these cables made. Not only did the background get quieter, but the overall sound got added clarity and a sweetness of tone. This cable is just easy on the ears, while seemingly hiding nothing, and is easily worth the extra money I spent over my previous single ended cables (also from AQ). They also are solidly constructed and look good too. Highly recommended!

I am NOT a cable enthusiast, but I am interested in the sound that emits from my moderatly priced Audio toys, in this case a new BLuesound Icon Streamer, Anthem STR Int.Amp, 2 subs, and a Set of Paradigm Persona 3F's. The Anthem is capable of providing room calibration with Arc/Genesis and allows many options for adjusments with your equipment and sound. I have never had a combo of pieces that had XLR hook-ups, and the Bluesound allows me the option to hook up XLR and RCA Cables. Is there a actual difference in sound, yes and no, when using RCA both with Room Correction on/off the sound difference is slight but when using XLR the sound difference is substanial when using room correction on/off, the sound when off is open and dynamic when on muddled, distant, with sound loss. When comparing the 2 cables, the XLR is again more detailed, but the sound loss is less perceptable, both running without room correction. The RCA cables are Transparent so cable to cable quality is of little concern, are XLR better, that depends on your sound perception equipment, music, and volume. For me and others who have listened (They are NOT enthusiast) the XLR without room correction are a very good solution, they do what I expect are well made, and plug in securly.

I get this Mackenzie for interconnection of the Stellar Gain Cell Dac and M700s power amp by PS Audio. The XRL does really good job with plenty of detail and crisp crystal clear sound. a bit bright in high, but after a week it get more balance and sweet. Worth every penies with this XLR cables

I'm the second person writing a review with the exact same issue so whats that tell you? Clearly used MacKenzie XLR cables, with the exact same issues as the other customer who received used cables. The conductors were completely tarnished and the surrounding casing scuffed from rubbing against each other. Don't know if you know this my guy but silver tarnishes through oxidation. The "broken seal" sticker thats usually on these brand new was a nice touch, but the silver don't lie. The cables were't even secured inside the box because they weren't in the original interior packaging.

AQ is a reliable brand, the image becomes more natural and better shadows degradation.

I did some crazy bad things before this product, I connected my pre to my amp with some cheap $10 USD "for audio" cables, then I changed to XLR not so cheap generic branded cables that went from being generic and with distortion to more open and less distortion. AND then I bought this which just make me smile everytime I go on with my music, these cables allow me sweet, distortionless, full open stage music ( my speakers are 91 dbm at 6 ohm 1w per 1m nominal ) they're not that big but enough for my small room.

Good Cable - provided a clear and full body sound

I think it is over-priced, but, my customer insisted on it.

très bon câble pour la hifi de haut gamme moi je l'ai branche entre mon sacd et mon ampli mc intosh . a l'oreille on n'entend pas de différence entre un câble a 20 euro et celui la a 300 euro mais sur papier il préconise ce genre de câble pour de bon aigu et de bonne base profond

Used to replace another brand of XLR cable on my Audiolab CD/amp setup which weren't exactly cheap, but never quite left me 100% impressed (compared to the output from my other hifi separates) sound wise. These Mackenzie cables made an immediate positive impression. Yes, they cost more than those they've replaced but the improvement justifies that IMO. I enjoy listening to all-sorts, be it classical, vintage jazz, opera, movie soundtracks, retro pop and there's just that bit more "umph". Not a technical explanation I know, but sums the difference up!

Now connecting my DAC to amp with the best method ( balanced) and a superb set of cables. Huge SQ improvement. Way better than even good quality rca’s. Highly recommended.

Das Kabel ist einfach Super. Im Vergleich zu Chinch auch von Audioquest klingt sehr Räumlich. Bin mehr als zufrieden. Empfehlenswert. Und der Verkäufer ist 1A++.

Sono passato dalla connessione RCA alla connessione XLR mantenendo Audioquest Mackenzie come riferimento. I nuovi cavi collegano un DAC (Topping D90LE) ad un amplificatore per cuffie (Schiit Midgard Halo). Un grande plauso ad Audioquest per l'altissima qualità dei cavi entry level di cui giustamente si vanta e ad Amazon per il servizio impeccabile
