I personally had difficulty with the magnesium citrate portion so will hold off on further consumption unless constipated. The magnesium malate noticeably helped muscularly within days. I believe the magnesium glycinate did allow for my first night with no night sweats but unable to maintain consumption of this supplement to further comment on effectiveness with sleep as I have discontinued. No side effects from capsules themselves. Minus the magnesium citrate, a very good product for my needs.
