An action-packed, saucy food comedy featuring one boy’s determination to be top chef! Soma Yukihira’s old man runs a small family restaurant in the less savory end of town. Aiming to one day surpass his father’s culinary prowess, Soma hones his skills day in and day out until one day, out of the blue, his father decides to enroll Soma in a classy culinary school! Can Soma really cut it in a place that prides itself on a 10 percent graduation rate? And can he convince the beautiful, domineering heiress of the school that he belongs there at all?! Fighting to save Alice’s society from being abolished by the Azami administration, Ryo Kurokiba, battling as her champion, begins his shokugeki with Central elite Kusunoki. The theme is salmon, and both chefs put everything they’ve got, including their pride, into their dishes. So what’s got Alice so troubled that she tells off her own uncle, Dean Nakiri, at the end of the match?! Backwards [UPDATED]
Will be 5 when it gets updated. Opened it up to find that the whole book is backwards. Book reads left to right instead of the intended right to left. Contacted Amazon immediately and they said they were looking into this issue to fix it. Please fix this ASAP! EDIT: I went over to Comixology to see if the problem persisted over there (I had to buy it a second time unfortunately) and it doesn't. The book actually works as intended over there. Because of this, I fear buying books directly through Amazon Kindle from now on. Maybe I'll just move over there (however I like the kindle app's reader better) from now on. If you want to read this right now, I highly advise you go over there and buy it. If this ever gets fixed after this review, then I'd say go ahead and get it here. Now that I've read the book in it's intended direction, I can say that this book raises the stakes even higher than previous installments. I will not spoil the fun, but know that this book had me screaming and shouting "Oh my goooosh!!!" by the end. Overall this is a 9/10 for me. I'll keep the 4 star rating here for the Kindle version. The comixology version is leagues better.

Taking on the 1st seat
I think what’s best about this is that we finally get to see Soma go up against the first seat of the Council of Ten (just the start of the match mind you), and it’s going to be interesting. If Soma wins, he gets the first seat...but if he loses, then he will join Central as Eishi Tsukasa’s sous chef.

In a nutshell: Kurokiba versus a scrub along side fellow scrubs
There were new characters here but ultimately, they wouldn't even figure into the long term story. Even Kurokiba became a major disappointment himself. What saved this volume was the the match between Soma and the First Seat which ultimately wouldn't even matter after all that pre-game hype. The recipes included in this volume seem to become more complex. It's something that could daunt a casual home cook.

I love this manga and look forward to each release and ...
I haven't read this volume yet as it's actually extremely hard to read. Why is this kindle version flipped compared to EVERY volume that came before it?! I love this manga and look forward to each release and find myself very frustrated to suddenly have to read the left page followed by the right page, and all while still reading right to left on the pages themselves. It's honestly hard to remember since 18 previous volumes were done the other way! I'll gladly change my review if this proves to be an error or changeable but right now it's frustrating.

A great addition to the series but there's a minor consistency error.
In one of the character profiles, it states that Rentaro Kusunoki is a third year student even though he's a second year. This isn't that important, but I thought this would be something the editors would want to rectify. Other than that I have no further complaints about this product - it came in good condition and was entertaining to read.

One of the best.
This is one of the best Shokugekis I've ever seen. The art is just amazing. Really great work by Saeki Shun. And the plot is going strong. Definitely worth it to buy.

Es wird ernster
Food Wars wie immer klasse. Nun wird es etwas ernster. Wir erfahren mehr Hintergründe aus der Vergangenheit von Erina. Kann ich nur jeden empfehlen.
