Keep your mortar creamy
Tiled a chimney breast using clay brickslips and used this product for the mortar. It works perfectly as long as your bag is constantly under pressure. To do this, you must fill the bag ½ way and shake it down to release the air, then twist the bag a couple of times so that no mortar will spill out from the opening. Two things to remember when filling: one hand should always squeeze a few inches from the tip to release the mortar and the other hand should always keep the back of the bag twisted under pressure again and again. There is also a little notch on the tip which helps release the mortar very cleanly.Always remember to keep your mortar slightly runny!!

Works well, fairly easy to clean.
This has been great for deep gaps when repointing an old 1700’s cottage with lime mortar.Choice of sand in the mix makes a huge difference to well it goes through the nozzle, so might take a while to get it right.I found a pressurised water spray bottle cleaned it quickly over a bucket.

Can be messy to use (first time amateur user).
I used the bag to infil between engineering bricks on edge, for a footpath, without getting mortar on exposed faces. Worked well, but stopped short of top because wet nature of mix, and weather, meant it was too wet to get a clean finish. Will do final pointing with a damp mix when weather improves. Cleans up well aftrer use.

No good for Mortar
Bought this item to re-grout brick wall. I tried it with various mixes of sand cement ready mix. Too thin just run out of joints and down the wall - right consistency would not flow through the nozzle even after cutting off and making hole bigger. This item is no good for brickwork mortar even though it says mortar in the description. Complete wast of £21. I don't like to return it as it is soiled with trying to use it.
