Why don't all ice cube trays come with lids?? I am using this for everything! I freeze the cubes and then, because the mold is silicone, I just pop out the frozen cubes with ease and put them in a Ziploc bag. This way I can re-use the tray immediately. But I definitely need like 3 more.So far, I've used it for this:1. Chopped basil from the garden combined with olive oil for recipes. Keep my garden harvest fresh all winter.2. Chopped cilantro and parsley combines with enough water to cover - keeps it very fresh. I buy a bunch in the grocery store and it's always more than I need for my recipe.3. The last bit of tomato paste that always gets moldy in the can after I take out a tablespoon for my recipe.4. Smoothie cubes - fruits combined in the blender and then frozen in these cubes for smoothies.5. Berry cubes - whole blueberry and raspberries covered in water and frozen make a beautiful presentation in my ice water!6. Frozen crushed pineapple for adding to my cottage cheese. I hate the metallic taste of pineapple stored in the can in the fridge.7. Fruit water and lite syrup strained from canned fruit I use for other recipes. Now I can use the fruit water in my smoothies.I love that the cubes are twice the size of regular trays. But the best thing is the lid. Even if I overfill and the expansion causes the lid to pop up a bit, it doesn't leak all over my freezer. I can stack them on top of each other to freeze so I don't need as much freezer space, and they don't give off or pick up odors because everything is enclosed. When I was pregnant I decided that I would not feed my baby store bought processed foods. there is way to much sugar in baby food for my comfort not to mention the preservatives and additional additives so I purchased these to keep my baby food fresh and be organized. My baby is now 17 months old and I can tell you that I have not once relied on store bought baby food. My baby is healthy and eats all types of food and not just things laden with sugar. I'm not sure how successful I would have been without these garden fresh freezer trays but I do know that I wouldn't have gotten this far. They are easy to freeze very stackable. I purchased a couple of these trays in three different colors. green was for veggies blue for breakfast and red for foods with meat. The only complaint which it really isn't is that the lids are broken because they get frozen and if dropped cracks very very easily. I now have no lids but I just use foil and gallon size ziplock bags to maintain freshness. no worried, but then again I'm not too fuzzy the issue with the lids may be a deal breaker for someone else ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Warm water helps with stubborn lid. *by K***L on Reviewed in the United States on August 1, 2015* This tray is thick and durable but still plenty flexible. I love the fact that it has a lid so it's safe in the freezer. My only complaint, like many reviewers, is that the lid is near impossible to get off once frozen. However, after running the tray under warm water for a few seconds, it comes off much more easily. The cubes slide out easily after using warm water, too. All in all, I am pleased with this product for the price. I will be purchasing a second one.UPDATE: I purchased another tray that is nearly identical and the same price and like that one much better. It's the Nuk brand. The lid comes off easily and the cubes slide out better. It is more flexible, too.
