Totally Bamboo Kauai Bamboo Serving & Cutting Board, 14" x 11.5", Natural Two Tone

We have been buying these boards (a few a year) for many years now. We use them to serve cheese boards, not for chopping or meats. The newest boards are not the same quality. The boards are much rougher, with burring. The glue also does not hold near as well. Even with only washing by hand the main part of the boards are warping separate from the lighter trim pieces. some of the interior sections are also separating. We have 6 year old boards that receive identical treatment and are still in good shape from the same manufacturer. Tee older boards we have been able to wash in a machine once a week or so, as long as they are oiled regularly. The new ones we wouldn't dare even try.

This is my 4th bamboo board and it looks like the search is finally over!What I like about it:1. It's the perfect size - it's large enough to be able to cut and chop comfortably, but still not too big to take up all the counter space2. It's the perfect weight and thickness - I've had several bamboo boards before, and the problem was they were too thin, and they warped no matter how many mineral oil treatments I made or how careful I was not to leave water on them. In opposition, a big wooden board I had was so heavy that I repeatedly avoided using it, just because my arm would hurt. But not anymore! This Totally Bamboo Kauai Cutting Board is just right: thick enough not to warp, light enough to be able to use it.3. It looks beautiful - I treated it with mineral oil in the beginning, as per instructions; the board looks beautiful and I expect some good years of use out of it.4. It won't dull knives - the board will get some cuts and scratches, for sure, but the good news is, the board is soft enough so it won't dull my knives.5. It's ecological and naturally anti-microbial.I am really pleased with this bamboo board, would certainly recommend it.

This cutting board pretty much hits all the check marks. Compact, sustainable material used to make it, easy to clean, durable, fast drying. Not sure what else you could ask for. It's pretty compact, so if looking for a large cutting board, this size isn't it. I usually can easily cut a full onion, potato and garlic on the surface without needing more space (to give size perspective.)

I purchased this bamboo cutting board to replace an older one that served me well for a long time. This cutting board is very (very) light weight. My older one was a little thicker but I have a hard time believing that even at the same thickness they would weigh the same amount. I've had this for about six months and while it's a fine cutting board, I don't enjoy using it. I've had to put kitchen drawer liner underneath the board to stop it from jumping around on the counter while cutting produce. Straight out of the box the finish wasn't very good. It was a bit rough to run your hands over (I'm still trying to fix this with board oil and harsh scrubbing with a brush). I haven't gone to sandpaper yet, but that's my next step. I wish I had been able to handle this before I had purchased (I probably would have reconsidered). Even after considerable use, there aren't blade marks in the board, so that's a sign that it will last.

Used for vegetables

I was looking for a cutting board that I could put under my air fryer. This was the perfect size.

I got this board to replace a similar one that I had for years. This later model is better because it is thicker but still not so big as to be cumbersome and unwieldy. I’m very glad I got this board.

I have a similar bamboo cutting board that I have had for years. It's great! I bought this one for my daughter as she said she needed a good cutting board. This one looks exactly like the one I have and is exactly the same size. So I thought it would be the same. Unfortunately it's not. It's much lighter weight and the surface seems more porous. It's almost like the density of the wood is less with a more open pore structure. It works ok, but I don't expect it to last as long because the more open pore structure will allow it to absorb more water, which will eventually cause it to crack. But we'll see, I am just speculating about that.

Well made for the price. I would recommend it to my friends.

Heavy, good quality. Not hard enough and knives leave lots of scrach on it. The key thing is whether it lasts. unable to comment yet.

It's a good looking board, but arrived with tiny (hair-like) bits of bamboo fuzz all over it. I rubbed and rubbed it with cutting board oil using a soft shop cloth over and over again for several days until "almost" all of the hairy fuzz finally came off. I don't fancy eating bamboo with my food.Pros:- It's lightweight- Cleans easily- Looks good - especially after oiling it several times- Functions as it should - though it is harder than I would like and I don't think it is doing my good knives any favours.Cons:- I wish it had feet and bought some from Amazon thinking I would put them on ... but discovered that bamboo will probably split if I try to put them on, so didn't do it.- I wish it had a hanger hole as I use it several times a day and would rather hang it on the wall than stuck away in a cupboard.- I really don't like all the little bamboo hairs that continue to come off it.Would I buy it again? Probably not. I will likely buy another (hardwood) board that fulfils my wishlist (which will probably mean I'll have to spend quite a bit more money) and I'll use this as a cheese and fruit server. It's really quite attractive.

J'ai acheté ce produit depuis 2 ans au moins (je ne sais plus la date exactement). Et la planche est toujours dans un état impeccable. Bref, c'est un achat qui me satisfait pleinement.

J'avais déjà utilisé ce type de produit ; agréable à la découpe, ne glisse pas. Le fil du vrai acier s'y conserve fort bien. Taille pratique, en utilisation personnellle.
