I particularly like the section of the power of affirmations.
As a beginner of long distance running, I tried mini marathon 2 weeks ago mostly walk. For my age ( 58 years ), I like cycling very much to keep me healthy but it's hard to carry a bicycle from the third floor of my apartment to the ground. It causes my back pain sometime, therefore I try running. So I need a kind of a guide book. After searching through amazon kindle, I found this book interesting specially for average person and step by step made my decision to buy it. It's good for beginners like me, even I've not yet practice any steps just finishing reading. Easy to read and understanding clearly!. I particularly like the section of the power of affirmations.

Good Basic Guidelines
I have previously run 2 half marathons in the past year so I did not really learn much that was new. The book, however, has some good common sense advice for someone that has not run this distance before. I was especially pleased that the author included some post race advice.

Very motivating and relatable!
This book has been a great training sidekick! Not only does it layout distances and how to go about them during the training, the author explains pretty much everything a novice runner like myself is wondering about going into a half marathon. It is a fast read and now serves as a sort of quick reference manual if I forget what I’m supposed to be doing in my training.

Highly recommended
This was a great quick read, took me about an hour. I just started training for my first half impulsively with no knowledge of what I was getting myself into. I decided to purchase this book in the hopes it would help me get prepared. It was very helpful and I highly recommend for beginners like me :)

Good book for someone sedentary beginning to run. Good basic examples and it has from preparation to basic nutrition.
Good book for beginners, nutritiom tips and everything included. Could help a lot of runners that doen't have any guide.

Very motivating!!!
I started running in August. I have never run before in my life. I am 46 years old but I have been active my whole life, walking, biking, yoga etc. My boyfriend is a marathon runner and I thought why not give it a try. First time out I ran 1.25 miles. So I began my running journey. I read your book and have completed 2 5ks, a 10k and now I'm aiming for my first half marathon in January. I am using your book as my bible. If you can do it so can I. Right?

It is realy good and I ve recieved a lot of information but it would have beenm easier if you wrote it in both miles and km fot those living outside US.

A fantastic Step-By-Step Guide to Half Marathons
An excellently written book. It is perfect for what you need to know to get the finishing line as it says on the front cover. Apart from providing very handy tips, I found the book to be also very motivational and has been one of the catalysts to book my first half marathon next year.In fact I have adopted the 12 week training plan provided in the book, as it suits me to the ground. Certainly a recommended read for some who wants to make that step up from a 10k.

No fuss easy read does what it says!
i got this book in jan I’m 44 and doing my first ever half in April.. the book is good no unnecessary waffle. I started as a complete novice so did the extra 3 weeks at the beginning.. I’ve stuck to it and am so far injury free! Surprising how quickly your legs get stronger! I’m half way through now so fingers crossed I’ll be making it over the finish line!
